Just sold a Telecaster neck on ebay for US$295 the winner then pays for it with paypal , he then sends a message too only value it at US$75. I normal just print of the ebay shipping slip and ship it with insurance for that amount. I told him I will only ship with original ebay paperwork. Am I being too hard, could or should the guy have asked me first?

Actually he is asking you to an illegal act. so fuck him! He is just trying to get around paying customs.

If its under $1000 dollars Australiian we don't pay customs or duty. The guy was in Canada what is the law there???

This is why US-based JCFer's don't like shipping outside the US. I won't even ship to Alaska or Hawaii because the shipping rates are so much more and I don't want to waste time figuring it out and putting the stipulation in my ad.

Yeah, hes pulling a fast one. This is why ebay sucks. Since you can no longer neg a buyer, youre screwed. You can say no and get a negative feedback. Then you run the risk that he wont accept the charges and your item will float around in customs limbo for a while. You will be out shipping and still get a negative. Ebay sucks.

If he is in Canada then he is trying to avoid the tax applied at Canada Customs. It is whatever applicable tax is in that province of the declared amount.
