Indigenous people do not like to be referred to as "Native Americans" either. Their nation is that of their heritage.

That attitude is why they lost the whole continent to the whites of European ancestry, too. They are of common genetic ancestry even if they claim different "nations".

Not a wise mongoloid who takes his heritage after the borders built by white colonialists. It only counts as a nationality written on your passport.

Well...if they aren't Native North Americans (which means native to North America) then they can stop whining about 'stolen land' I suppose then and cease with the acceptance of government handouts(?). Let me know which they prefer and get back to me...

                          Well, for example:

Sioux like to be called "Sioux."
Creek like to be called "Creek."

                          Get it?

But these aren't "nations". Sioux is more like panethnicity. Hypothetical "Sioux territory/land/etc." doesn't show genetic heritage. Most of the time current placements of ethnic groups in different geographical positions aren't the locations where they originated from. But I see what you are saying.

But those are the white man's names for their tribes, aren't they? The Creeks are called Creeks by the whites because they lived along creeks, for example. So what's the difference between one name given by the white man and another?
