Axess? I saw a concert with Alex Lifeson playing one of these. He sounded the same as he did on all of the other Rush recordings I've heard. Go figure--lol...

It's a 2004 reissue made right before they started production of the reissues in 2005. It has a chrome custom shop neck plate.

You know, this really says alot about these new Les Pauls. Everyone here knows that Trace has one of the biggest, most amazing collections ever and for him to choose one of these as his "goto" guitar says something about them. I love the top on this guitar as well!

I know which ones you're talking about! My dealer had gotten in one of those models along with the 2005 reissues. He ended up keeping that one for himself but I did get to play it. Very nice guitar! His was a kind of mix between mustard and taxi cab yellow. It had the chrome neckplate that had San Dimas but it seems like the address was different or something like that.

95 Charvel SD III It's heavy as hell, but I have yet to find another guitar that measures up!

Nice dimobag, Chuck has always been one of my favourite players.

Can't wait for my CS warrior built to exactly those specs!

DR3 with upgraded pups. It sounds better than any other guitar I've ever played.

My main 'band' guitar is just a boring ol' DK1. It fits the image of the band and it's 'disposable' so if anything bad happens, I will be annoyed and not gutted. The backup guitars include a PCS vibe refinished Gibson Gothic V and my refin TMNT Soloist. I used to use my purple quilt XTRR until I got the DK1, and I know I 'should' play the CS guitars out more, but our gear tends to get left unattended more than I'd like and I really don't need to spend my time worrying about it.

My most played 'home' guitar varies (mainly due to novelty time on the new toys) but the mainstay (and my #1 ever) is my GMW 'Adrian Smith'...

Though at home the RR1 gets the most use My 1998 Ibanez RG620r is my workhorse

It's my oldest guitar, and the only one to ever see outdoor use
also saw the most pickups, but for the past 10 years it's been like this

EMG 81 in the neck, 85 in the bridge and a schaller Floyd III (Low profile, I mutilated the cavity to make it fit as you can see in the picture)

even after keeping it in case for over 2 years, when i grabbed it again, it just gave me that 'oldfashioned' feeling
The body, the neck, the way my fingers slide over the fingerboard
Y'know, like it just "fits into place"

This would be my "Go to" guitar were I ever play in daylight again, simply being "old faithful"
I also would have less of a problem 'sacrificing' it to possible damage, unlike my other axes
It's simply not as expensive or 'rare', less prone to dents and nicks being an oiled finish and really a 'tool for the job'

currently, my "workhorse" guitar would probably be my PRS CE24 burnt orange. for what my band is playing right now, it is really the cat's meow. we are moving in a more pop-oriented direction (all original music) and the PRS gives me just enough meat to still sound heavy without looking too out of place.

                            my other choices include:

                            jackson SL-1 holoflake
                            jackson PC-1 solar
                            CS charvel dinky snow white
                            jackson PS-7 trans-blue
                            USA hamer diablo white
                            USA hamer vector '59 burst
MIM fender strat 3 color sunburst
                            1962 fender strat black/rust/crust
                            squier FSR telecaster pink sparkle
                            ibanez S540 desert sun yellow
                            ibanez RG570 fire-burned
                            ibanez RG550 road flare red
                            brian moore i8.13.P tobacco burst
                            PRS CE24 maple tortoise shell

for the past several years, the holoflake has been my main guitar for standard tuning and the CS charvel has been my main guitar for dropped D. i found that i am tired of the whole jackson thing for right now. the last show my band played, i used the PRS, the MIM strat, and the squier tele for dropped D. it was fun.

here's the strat and tele in action....

the PRS CE is stock. the MIM has a left handed neck (the logo is upside down and i had new side dots installed so i can see them) and an SD little '59 in the bridge. the tele has a GFS big mouth humbucker installed and a gotoh bridge.
                            GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

                            and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I hate the input jack placement on this so much but it looks like a schwanky axe, I really considered it but I like super strat shapes a bit more (along with my black coffee, I'm a bland guy).

I use a minimum of 4 guitars per show due to the different tunings we use.

My Main Soloist (tuned to Eb) is this SL2H Ultra Violet Burst:

My main Rhoads is an 89 Black and Gold with factory scalloped 12-22 frets (tuned to Eb):

I use this 87 Purple/Black Zebra Soloist for drop D tunings (equipped with EVH D-Tuna):

For songs that are is straight D tuning I use my SL2H Interference Fireglo:
