    ...who's with me?????

After several months of political bullshit, my job was eliminated today. I knew in my gut that it was coming, but I didn't think it would happen until probably September. I guess my calculations were a bit off!

Oh well, time to begin the job search process all over again! And what a wonderful time it is to be doing it! (sarcasm)

I was a VP and the member of Senior Management that sat in on my exit didn't say a word...total disrespect for everything I've done there over the last 6 years. I built up 2 previously non-existent departments while I was there and played a very key role in changing A LOT of things for the better. Apparently, they don't give a fuck what anyone has done to improve things...that says a lot about the way management runs that place.

    Bill...can I get a FUGGEMZ, brother???

A close friend recently was hired by a company to come in and clean up their shipping department. He implemented several process improvements and resolved almost all of their shipping issues. They fired him without cause (so he is eligible for employment insurance at least.) and replaced him with a young guy with no qualifications but he works for $5 an hour less....

The only company in the world that won't screw you to save 5 cents is one you own unfortunately.

Bummer, good luck on the search. Being a good employee means nothing today. We're all disposable. It sucks. Hope you find something better soon.

Hell, I ended up jobless about a year ago and went in to business for myself and by my calculations if I dont get a job by the end of the month to supplement the badly slow period of late(I havent had a project in 2 months) Ill be fucked and have no recourse but to start sellin my gear and whatever else I own thats worth anything for a fraction of what its worth because of this shitty ass economy!! Wheres all this CHANGE I heard so much about TWO YEARS AGO?!

Go to an Army recruiter, enlist as an Airborne Infantryman. You'll be sent to my unit and when you get here I'll get you in my platoon.

                Or not. lol

But in all seriousness, good luck in your search and with any luck you'll be back on track again in no time.

Everything can be waived. And I'm not joking. So long as there is some way to have your vision corrected to 20/20, you can fight to get in. Hell, you can be colorblind. (You can't be a paratrooper if you're colorblind, though)

We had a guy enlist in the Navy when I was at MEPS and he only had one eye.

*EDIT: And for what it's worth, I can only hear from like 120Hz to 1kHz in my right ear and am almost legally blind in my right eye due to injuries sustained from an RPG blast last September. I could possibly take a medical discharge, but where's the fun in that?

                      Sorry to hear bro.
I personally love being without a job of course but I'm gonna retire early from it... probably gonna go fishing some cod from Atlantic in Gascogne or something. That way I can do two of my favorite hobbies... slacking and eating fish.

Getting laid off is fun as hell, for about the first two weeks.

Good luck, dude. I hope that good fortune is right around the corner, but in the meantime, dust off the old resume and start warming up your shakin' hand.
