It had to happen sooner or latter, UPS the headstock off a guitar I sold. The thing that really sucks I already spent the money that I'm going to have to refund and I bet I get crap from insurance.

Shitty. That's what makes me afraid to buy/sell stuff non-locally. I was shitting bricks for 3 days after ordering $50 of steel tuning machines, nevermind a chunk of wood.

I hope things work out for you. Did you insure the shipment with UPS?

Thats one of the reasons I remove string tension before shipping a guitar... just one less thing in the equasion. Sorry to hear it Rich, hopefully the insurance will cover it!

UPS are real twats, anyway, can I have it? I wouldn't mind paying for the headstock to be fixed.

UPS will deny you first time as a matter of course, they'll say "insufficient packing". They also OWN their own insurance company which is why they always deny at first, so you will be in for a fight, but if you've got enough pics oc the box, packing and damage to the box, you should be able to fight them.
