Sadly no. I got that off the web. My wife is 1/4 Greek though. Her great-grandparents came over from Thasos/Θάσος.

Welcome to the JCF, Panos! I am a 1/4 Greek too, but I do not read or write the language at all, sadly. My mother taught me the greeting "Tekanyis", that's about all I know. She said it means "How Are you"? My grandfather came to New York from Athens long ago.
