I like that a lot. It has that FSOL / Orbital vibe which reminds me of the Wipeout 2097 soundtrack.

In our concerts of course We start mixing next week so I hope there should be some stuff up at the end of this month.
Meanwhile listen to the best... The Nerve, they've been a quite an influence to us but their chops are from another universe, mad skills!
      Dnb, Jungle performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OHsO1Gfb_I
      And a Dubstep-ish track http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/j...nerve2010.html

Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun from Living Colour have also made some great experiments in this vein.

That NERVE stuff is SICK!!! Reminds me of Ozric Tentacles. If you've never heard them, you ought to check them out. AMAZING stuff. Hard to find live footage with decent sound though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWAUd_5cfhQ

Give this one at least until about 5:00 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f26hh...eature=related

I like that NERVE is all about playing perfectly live what they wrote/recorded. Looks like a good group of guys.

            Drummer is smokin.
The music takes a bit to kick in, i like this type of stuff on occasion, but it's a bit well it's a mood thing i guess, but kinda mono monotonous. Needs Les Claypool maybe
Something to further investigate tho and others of the genre, thnx.

Dig to hear your stuff as well

Since were talking about other genres and technique. I'll throw in The Mars Volta.

For me one of the most exciting bands i've heard in many many years.
I don't listen to much music at all anymore, seems i'm kinda am burnt on everything.
I have a handful of older bands/genres that float my boat and i kinda just stick with them.
But these guys really gave me a second wind and inspiration, tho it doesn't mean i play anything like them just the excitement of music and expanded horizons.
They have great range and just flat kick ass.

Imo, you could pick up any one of their albums and it is fucking great.
one of those bands that comes around that you hear them and are like ok, there's something magic happening there, it's beyond the norm. Or is it just me. hah

I'm sorry dude, tech metal for me stopped at that band Spiral Architect....hence the name.

I'm just still caught up on Pantera, I hear new shit every day I listen to them. maybe I'm just old school haha.

Dude Jack Black and Jack White need to start a Folk/Metal band called black and white and it would have sick country breakdowns and TROO KVLT *lol can't believe I typed that* black metal insanity with Jokes and seriousness and lots of fat chicks in the videos, or dudes who are black metal dressed up like fat chicks, holy fuck it would be amazing, with Bob Saget on vocals.\

Meshuggah are still cool but all the bands than have followed got boring very quickly. Periphery were cool for a while but now it's just sounds so boring. There's only a small handfull of artists who can make interesting music that gets lumped with the 'djent' thing, Chimp Spanner being one but that's because there's more than just the Meshuggah rip off going on.
