I try and play all of them pretty regular to make sure that there are no issues, give em a dustin' and any maintenance that is needed and once a year do a fretboard scrubbing and string change (or string change as needed).

I don't. They stay in their cases. Most times I keep my Number One, which I named Hot Rod Greeny, out and play that most of the time. When I pull out another guitar - if I feel I'm going to play it for a bit - then I'll change up the strings and such.

I.T. guy here and I use my little handy dandy keyboard/printer vacuum with an ultra soft brush attachment. Fingerprints and other smudges get shammied.

Glass trophy cases = no dust.
I only need one more guitar.

I let mine get dirty, they get played, so they get dirty anyways.

Easy..I never play 'em! "Look,..this one still has the lil' tagger on it"..I'm like Nigel.

Seriously I have 3 of 10 that are my "go to" geetars..My '95 SD-I being my #1, and my '95 vintage white/maple American (floyd rose classic) as my #2. I guess my '95 Peavey Purple Wolfgang would be #3. Those are all tuned to D standard with 10s. I always wipe them down after I'm done and always put them back in their case.

I bought all my guitars in '95/'96..obviously a great year for me . I gave my Jackson 7 string that I bought from Chris (Firebird V) to my son ..who's putting to much better use than me.

                            Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

I just occasionally wipe them down. I mostly just use a polishing cloth and a car detailing duster. The duster I use was bought from the Wal-Mart auto department in the early 90s. I've bought expensive dusters from Stewmac and so forth, but I like the WM one the best. As far as polishing, I use one of the Dean Markley gray cloths. That is the best polishing cloth I've ever used. It lifts fingerprints, grease, etc. and puts on a shine. BTW, I went to buy another and it appears they might be discontinued. Anyway, those two things take care of most guitars. If something is stubborn, I try moist breath with the Dean Markley cloth. If it still needs more, I use t-shirt cloth and some naptha. I haven't used polish on any of my guitars in years (probably 10 to 15 years). It just isn't necessary. A good cloth, naptha, moist breath, and spit do just fine.

Occasionally, I pull the strings, clean the fretboard, and polish the frets. I use steel wool for the polishing. I use bore oil to clean and oil the fretboard. As far as how often, I used to keep a log, but anymore, I just do it when I feel a guitar needs it. That's probably every 12 to 18 months for each guitar.

For guitars I play at home, I change strings only when absolutely necessary. For gigging guitars, I change strings maybe every month or two. Maybe more if I'm playing the guitar more.

I'm somewhat anal retentive, but I mostly try to just enjoy playing my guitars and not obsess over cleaning regimen.

So i was wondering, you lucky guys with huge guitar collections that you keep on stands and wall hangers, how do you deal with keeping all of them clean? Do you play all of them and restring them often? Do you have a super-efficient magical feather duster? Do you spend en entire weekend with a piece of cloth in your hand? Keep them in special, climate controlled and air-filtered rooms? Or do you only clean them for the family photos?

I clean my 10+ guitars the same way I did when I cleaned my 9 - guitars, with a cloth and some polish.
