I agree that the reverse should be on the soloist. I wouldnt pay 2K for a bolt on neck guitar. for me its the total package of the soloist with reverse headstock.

My first thought on a DK1R unfortunately is CarrGuitar. I know thats a little extreme, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a perfectly good guitar parted out, mainly because of a reversed head. I'd say put it on a NT, just 1-2 productions for the first year, like the SL1 and SL2, if it goes over well, start offering it on others as an option. The only drawback I would forsee is delivery times, maybe. I think your 2011 SL2HR would be availible in 2012. Not knocking Jackson, handbuilt guitars take time. By then I'd have the extra cash to buy one or three though....

+1-- 2 G's for a DK1 is fookin' shite but I'd snap up a DK1R (with ghost flames or snakeskin?) in a heartbeat over a SL2HR. YMMV...

Personally, I dislike the reverse headstock on the superstrat shape, so I disagree with your theory

My first Jackson was a JS-series Dinky Reverse. My first USA Jackson was a DR2. My #1 gigging guitar is a Dinky RVS Professional, and I just bought a used Dinky Rev Professional. Oh yeah, and I have a COW7 too. So yeah, I like `em a lot. I'm not a big neck-thru fan to be honest, but if the USA DR2 were ever brought back in some form, I'd find a way to afford one.

That being said, I don't care for the look of the "pointy" Jacksons with reverse headstocks. They look off-balance to me.

I guess I dont understand WHY they dont offer it when its available on imports?? I mean that makes NO sense at all!!! lets offer it on a $500 guitar, but not on the $2000 guitars. it just isnt practical. There should just be an SL2HR model offered and those of us who wish to buy them can and those that dont can buy regular headstocks. whats the problem here??

That's actually a Custom Warrior X series with EMGx's, and he had it painted by Learn if I'm not mistaken. It's a killer looking guitar BTW.
