They just don't work for me anymore.

You might be able to find NOS with the solid birds, and I was trying to do that, but one caught my eye and I didn't care so much at that point because it is SWEET. I will post pics when it arrives.I like EL34s.

I'm so anti-dots, I had sharkfin side inlays installed on the side of all my guitars.
Though nothing is cooler then a none more black ebony board, bound with MOP sharks. Go play a Model 5, and you won't care if it's dots, sharks, or bird shit on the fretboard. Just wash up when your done, I guess.

It depends on what the rest of the guitar looks like. Someone here once posted a Soloist with rosewood board with dots but it also had binding. "JA-XXXX" or something in some kind of caramel or honey kinda finish.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

I went through a phase of preferring sharkies, but now I just take each guitar by its merits. I love my Yamaha RGXs and RGZs, and most of them have dot inlays. They may be inexpensive guitars but they aren't cheap. Those Taiwanese Yamahas are definitely the equal of Japanese Jacksons in playability, looks and sound. What the inlays are doesn't matter to me as much as how they play and sound.Ron is the MAN!!!!

I believe it is expensive, but I can tell you, it's not because of the inlays.Todd M
