"Sir" and "Ma'am" are terms of respect, not age connotative. I will call the 18-year-old bank teller "ma'am" and I am 52 years old. Of course that is also a Southern thing. I know when I was in California people tended to bow up about "sir" and "ma'am". Take it as a sign of respect and don't let it bother you.Ron is the MAN!!!!
