So last night I discovered these guys through a news post here, then ended up spending most of the night listening to Electric Wizard on youtube. The result was an acute case of G.A.S. of the downtuned, stoner variety.
Now, as I am typing this there is a little voice in my head that goes something like this: "GibsonGibsonGibsonGibsonGibsonGibsonGibson", and to be fair everything in the genre seems to be played on a Les Paul or an SG. But I am thinking, why not a Dominion? Then there is the sevenstring option which is also intriguing, but might be overkill and most of them come with active pickups, which I am not sure I like for the intended use.
What would you think between a Dominion and a quality LP clone (possibly a used Gibson or even an SG - I don't like LP Studios though)? It would have to excel at stoner wall of sound all the way down to B tuning, as well as the occasional bluesy messing around and I would certainly change the tuning a lot, at least at first (I heard that SG's don't like that).
PS: what's the deal with Dominions in Europe? I looked at several stores online and ebay, and can only find the D2 version!
