That would be Snowball of Doom, wouldn't it?

Snow started here just after noon. I'm not too worried, though the news channels are showing footage from '79 and '67 where there were cars left abandoned on Lake Shore Drive.

And this is why I love living in Phoenix.
The Summer heat is easy to deal with... it's called A/C and a pool in my backyard.

I may call my old man in St. Louis just to give him shit.
He hates snow but hates moving even more.

        All kidding aside, be safe.
Don't go nowhere is you don't have to. Leave the roads to the idiots and the EMS guys.

We've been home all day here today. It's dumped snow from early AM and is continuing. The kids have been home all day and are already canceled for tomorrow. Heck, they closed the college I'm teaching at last night before everything got here (it arrived several hours late), canceled today, and have canceled for tomorrow already. It takes a lot to close college and we definitely are there. I've already shoveled my drive out 6 times today, just hoping to keep it manageable for when they finally get around to plowing us out. I've got snow3' deep to either side of my driveway.

It's nuts. On the positive side, my wife was supposed to drive out of town today to a client. Luckily she didn't try to beat it and has just worked remotely from home. She has four wheel drive, but still this is nuts. (Hell, I lived in Minnesota for 12 years and never saw anything like this: cold yes, but not the 12 hours of blizzard.)

Heavy down pour of sleet is coming down and pinging against my windows.
I just got back in about 30 minutes ago from shoveling about 2 inches of pure sleet off the wooden deck and drive way.
Prior to this earlier today 2 other times I shoveled sleet mixed with snow, now its pure sleet.

Yah, they canceled all Schools in this area (city and county Schools).
Wife's work called her earlier before she was scheduled to go in and said its too bad to come in, very rare.

I suppose there's more on the way and suppose to continue through much of tomorrow.

Like others, I've been ready for spring when fall ended.
I'm not a winter person, never have been and never will be.

People have asked me, "Don't ya like the pretty snow?"
              I reply, "I can't say I do."

              Stay in and stay safe.
Get your generators ready to go or your kerosene heaters ready or both.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

I have now also seen this referred to as "Snowmageddon". Apparently perfectly normal things that have happened since the beginning of mankind like snowfall and common diseases such as colds and flus are now cause to worry about the end of days.

I got 3ft and higher drifts amd close to a foot of snow fall. Along with a dog who loves this shit. He has a triple coat and lives for this weather. He actually turns into the wind and holds his head up to catch as much wind as he can. While im freezing my ass off along with my ears and any other skin exposed. I took a look at the parking lot by my car earlier when i took him out, The snow was over the front bumper of my car and climbing the hood. This should be interesting in the morning. Good thing im on call.

I have snow drifts of at least 4 feet in most of my driveway. My dogs can't even go into the yard the snow is so deep. Anyone who said something about people being pussies can come shovel my driveway. My neighor's tree fell too.

I spent all night listening to 1' pieces of branches rolling down my roof... Sounded like Santa had a slip-and-fall while he was on the job or something.

I think I saw a flurry (singular) here in Nashville. They'll probably close the city down because a snow flake was spotted
