I made it in to work today, although it was closed, I still went it.
When your in IT having nobody around is the best time to get things done - nobody is in your way.

Main City streets are fairly decent, drivable at least.
Side streets? - nope, not good at all. No plows trucks have been through them yet.
County roads much like the side streets - not good and not gonna chance it.

All in all, as ugly as it was me and the family made it through this one.
Still plenty of winter ahead and left.

I'm hearing another winter storm is coming through Monday and Tuesday of next week.
That's about right, get through one and get blasted by another.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

      It's just cold rain here.
We got walloped with ice and about 6" of snow four weeks ago.
I'm no stranger to winter weather (grew up in upstate NY), but ice is bad,
no salt used here so it's a big deal when it happens.

Good news is the structural steel business ought to boom this spring to rebuild all
      the stuff that gets damaged.
(But I hope the Dallas rig holds up...we have a lot of steel in that stadium)!

      Stay safe!

We've had some sleet here but it hasn't caused any problems. North of us in Jackson though one of the major freeway transitions iced up last night and hundreds of cars got stuck on it for about 7 hours after a 12-car pileup. 2 deaths on Mississippi roads linked to the winter weather.

We got 6-7 inches of snow here in Dallas yesterday...on top of the ice build Sully mentioned. Good news is it will be Sunny and 40 today so we'll get a good melt off.

I feel bad for all the Super Bowl people. Media and players came to town Monday, we had sleet/ice and tempatures under 25 degrees up until yesterday when it got to about 28 but had 5-8 inches around town. The sun yesterday started to melt the ice/snow sheets from the roof of Cowboy stadium and had an avalance come down injuring a bunch of people...Dallas isn't prepared for this kind of weather for this long of a duration.

Luckily they weren't serious injuries, and tomorrow in Dallas calls for sunny & 50 F.

Another dump of 5-6 inches of snow this morning and early afternoon.

Gotta have a sense of humor that's for sure.
I will easily be a month or longer with just with what we've got in a weeks time to melt away.
Flooding will be a concern... its gotta go somewhere.

Then it would would be Springpocolypse...

Best rainbow trout fishing I ever experienced was the spring seasons after both the
77 and 79 massive winter events in upstate New York.
Seems nature can deal with this stuff.
Humans have a bit more trouble with it.

Although it's Wiki, it's true, I lived though it:
