All I have to say is Steve Stevens is an amazing guitar player. Check out Bozzio Levin Stevens to hear some sick playing. As for Ed or Rhoads? seriously who gives a flying hell fuck?

kamalayka, we all have our own preferences, it's fine if you don't like Ed but making a thread like this and copying argumentations from 12 year old retards from youtube... that makes you a cunt.

Is "arguementations" really a word? Almost sounds like "argue menstration" - like what you do when your old lady is on the rag.

When I hear Eddie, it sounds "off" to my ear, comparable to someone using "ain't" or double negatives when they talk (example- "I don't got nothing." I cringe when I hear music like this, which is why I cringe during so much of Eddie's stuff.)
Well, I have to admit I never listened much to Eddie, but knowing most of Randys work I highly doubt your perfect pitch would be an argument Pro-Rhoads.
I like him as a player but seriously, bending a note up to pitch was never exactly what made him the guitarist he is.

                1. Mastery of the Other's Material: Randy was a guitar teacher. Prior to joining Ozzy, he was constantly asked by his students to teach them VH licks and riffs, and in those days, you would have to learn by ear-especially if you're a guitar teacher. Randy had good recall, or the ability to replay something after hearing it only once or twice, whereas Eddie, by his own admission, had to actually slow down Eric Clapton's simple solos to learn them. (I couldn't see Eddie learning Randy's solos in Mr. Crowley.)

                2. Emotionally Captivating: It is said that when Beethoven performed his compositions for an audience, he would play with enough conviction and passion to bring his listeners to tears. When I hear Randy's duet with the piano on the Tribute version of Revelation Mother Earth, or his solo on Diary of A Madman, I get chills down my spine. Eddie has yet to grow beyond his juvenile "wow" factor.

                3. Musical Substance: Now, although Eddie has a certain energy to his playing, once you peer past the smoke and the mirrors, a more intellectually stimulating side to Eddie's composing is non-existent. Take away the tapping, the harmonics, distortion, and the whammy from Ed, and you're left with Clapton and Chuck Berry rip-offs. Take away those same things from Randy, and you still have really amazing musical ideas.
you buried yourself with your first point- "constantly asked by his students to teach them VH licks and riffs" i'd say that pretty much says it all.
if you can;t sit back and enjoy both of these great players fine, but don't expect to come on a board like this and have a lot of support if you're
going to bag on one of the most important guitar players of all time. i'm guessing you're no older than 16, this reads like a youtube argument-lol

yep, argumentation is a word and actually you described it pretty well when it comes to the argumentation skills of a lot of youtubers, males making themselves sound like they have a menstruation.

You might want to get your "perfect pitch" checked if Randy doesn't make you cringe once in a while, too.

Red > Blue. Red is powerful & bold while blue is cool & relaxing

I have perfect vision, and red is like a harsh insult to my retinas. It's hard to describe, but it feels almost like being berated by a foul-mouthed Estonian on a message board.

I've got the BLS CD around here somewhere. It is indeed awesome!

As far as Randy and EVH, I like both, but Randy's tone kinda sucked!

The man was amazing for getting that much treble out of a Les Paul, if nothing else.
