  • Why does music of the last 100 years suck?

like everything else in culture of the past 100 or so years, modern music sucks. I mean, Andres Segovia, dead, has more talent in his pinkie than Yngwie Malmsteen has is his entire fat ass.

    Don't believe me?

    Compare:

    Segovia
Andrés Segovia, nació el 18 de febrero de 1894, en el pueblo de Linares, provincia de Jaén, España.Hijo de un humilde carpintero, es probable que de haberse ...

I'm off work early for the weekend. I've spent about 65 of the past 72 hours freezing my ass off at some range and slept a whopping total of 5 hours all week. I'm tired, smelly, and severely pissed off. And now that I'm here I truly have nothing better to do than give this guy my undivided attention.

                Kamalayka,

Don't take this unkindly or ill spoken.
You should really try not to post randomly for the sake of posting.
Not all but much of what you post seems randomly childish.

                With that said,
Yes, Segovia has more talent in his pinky the Oomvay. I agree.
Oomvay never really appealed to me.

However, no decent music in 100 years is a bit exaggerated, don't you think?
That's something a young kid, a fan boy a troll would say.

You really should lay low on the whole posting thing for awhile.
                Just observe and don't engage.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

doesn't AndrésSegovia fall into the "last 100 years" range? I believe he was recognised of his playing of contemporary works, which would be music composed in the last 100 years. Or is the video (I haven't bothered watching it) some silent film of him playing 300 year old music some time prior to 1911?
                  Hail yesterday

                      Luv ya G.

Yeah the math to most would be simple but apparently not to the little guy.

Oh well, for me as hard as it's gonna be - it's time to move on.
I have to remember I was young and dumb at one time and show some grace.
Doing that means I gotta leave the thread.

Andre Segovia was born in the 19th century and had respect for the Masters before him. By "music of the last 100 years," I mean contemporary forms of music separate from classical-rock, blues, country, certain jazz. . . basically anything devoid of good harmony.

You guys should read some of the comments Segovia made about rock music and electric guitar in general.

I may be young, and I may not be very wise, but wisdom is neither a product nor an entitlement of age. Wisdom is passed on by the previous generations down through the ages.

If Segovia said one thing, and you say another, I'd rather side with Segovia.

                            (Ozzy Osbourne died today. RIP)

I have. Do you want to know what I think?

Bullshit. As much of a great guitarist as the guy was, he was also an absolute nutcase when it came to amplified guitars.
                              I like EL34s.
