  • Well, its official....

Its spring time and some damn fine weather. Did 5 or 6 hours hours of landscaping today, shirtless. Twitch now comes in Ferrari Red for a limited time. Ouuuch!!! It wont be the last, got more LS to do later in the week, and next week. Then its time to start working outdoors on buses all day in 90 degree weather, the shirt will come off again, maybe Ill invest in some sun block.

Sunlight exposure, especially enough to burn, causes cancer. This is a fact. Get some sunscreen please.

      Slip, Slop, Slap dude.

We've been indoctrinated to be sun smart here since the 70s. And skin cancer still affects more people here than any other form of cancer.

I had benign moles cut off my back as a teenager and have one "on watch" on my arm. My dad had a basel cell carcinoma cut off his nose just a few months ago. One of the guys at looks like a patchwork quilt for all the operations and skin grafts all over his head.
      Hail yesterday

Yeah, I'm really "white" so I avoid direct sun when at all possible. When I have to do it, I use SPF 50 or higher sun block. The side benefit is I look probably 5-10 year younger than my peers who weren't careful.

I had some stuff removed from my back some years ago, and the doctors scared the living shit out of me and I go to a skin specialist for an anual checkup. I've been told to stay out of the sun if possible and never, ever get sunburned. Cancer is no joking matter. My mom underwent treatment for breast cancer and was out of business for a year and my sister-in-law died at the age of 35 from cancer.

Let your wife know that the prospect of skin cancer is a good enough reason to avoid landscaping for the rest of your life--lol.

                    ALOE! GET SOME FUCKING ALOE!

I feel your pain bro, I burn easily too, but I now carry the farmer tan for life I guess.
I worked outside for nearly 20 years, but OSHA requires a shirt with a min 4" sleeve, so 1/2 my biceps, my forearms, and my neck/face are tan, except where my UV proctective safety glasses are positioned, I have an "out line" around my eyes.

Heh, OSHA doesnt govern me!!! Im freelance. I refuse to where anything but black t-shirts, so they tend to come off in the summer. Im the jeans and black t-shirt kind of guy, always have been, always will be. Does it suck in the summer wearing jeans and black t-shirts, yes, but at least people will always know where I stand when it comes to vanity and style. lol

I love lying in the sunshine in my Mankini, or better still, bollock naked. I always slap on the sunblock, do not need a sunburnt pellet. The one thing that does concern me is that I have no-one to check the bits I can't see. I know every follicle on my weeny, obviously, but my back....fuck knows. It has crossed my mind more than once that I might miss something that turned nasty on my neck or back...
Mind you, we had our Summer here, last Tuesday.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                          I nearly broke her back
