What is an iPhone 4 worth? Help, I'm and iPhone dummy.

I inheritted an iPhone 4 but don't really need it. It was an AT&T phone.

I've checked ebay, but these are going up to $900 and anywhere in between. At these prices, it's going to be sold because I know how technology prices work.

What does "unlocked" mean?

Unlocked means the phone can function on multiple networks (usually they're tethered to a provider like AT&T, Verizon, etc.) as long as they support the phone to begin with. Sorry though, no clue on the price. Not a big smartphone person. :P

If it's truly unlocked (by Apple) and in good condition, you can realistically expect to pull in about $600 for it. Brand new will get you closer to the $900 mark.
If it's just jailbroken and hack unlocked, you'll get less than $500 for it.

Unlocked iPhones in the U.S. are pointless since full functionality is limited to AT&T. You can put them on T-Mobile, but you can't get 3G service.
EDGE service on an iPhone is like running a CS Jackson through one of those cheap $49 beginner amps. Pointless.
