Ever since I first heard of them (that's gotta be eight or nine years ago) I instantly fell in love with their stuff. They had good songs with catchy hooks and cool melodies. They guys didn't seem to take themselves to seriously either. I liked explaining to people that their song "Growing on me" was not written as a love song. It was however written about pubic lice Permission to land was a great album! Id say the best song off the album is probably the aforementioned Growing on Me or maybe Friday Night.

One way ticket to hell (and back) isn't as good as their debut, but it still kicks some arse. I really like the song Dinner Lady arms. It was never a single, but it just has this great vibe to it.

As for their image, I dig it. Then again, I'm into pop/metal- glam- hair bands, so it doesn't bother me. It's just guys having a good time and entertaining the public on stage. A comparison was made to Steel panther earlier in the thread. When The Darkness are being interviewed, they're just a band. They're straight and to the point without too much BS. Steel Panther on the other hand, are a joke. They make good songs and Russ Parish is a hell of a player, but the band is a mockery of glam, where the darkness are just a band SP is trying to mock.

With Justin back in the Darkness fold, I wonder if the Stone Gods are ever going to put out album 2. Anyone know?
