But my favorite "historical" sword film is "L'Armata Brnacaleone" made by great Italian comedy director Mario Monicelli. There are no noble English knights speaking BBC english, dressing like French templars and saving the people with their heroics. It's about bums in the middle ages who want to be noble knights... real outcasts, misfits, dressed like side-show performers. Excellent performances and funny as hell.

Height and weight dont tell the story. The new Conan doesnt look strong Arnold was. This new guy looks like a tall guy who did alot of curls to make his arms bigger, but that doesnt hide the weak torso and legs. Maybe CGI and a cast of midgets might help...............

Id like to see the proposed remake of The Tripods, and hope it isnt a disaster. They should only make remakes of movies that were terribly made to begin with, or things like The Tripods which had $50 budgets. Although I do think the remakes of Dawn of the Dead, and a few others were good as they updated the effects. But I think its better to take originals and make a new movie based on them. Just make a new zombie movie instead. Anyone for Superzombie, the X-Zombies, The Powerpuff Zombies, Pulp Fiction Zombies?............

            On another/same note

            Marvel movies
Perhaps the single one I found decent was 'Superman returns', perhaps because that wasn't another 'reboot'
(No I'm not playing favorites, Japanese anime has turned into nerdboy+superpowers+harem carbon copies of eachother)

Why can't there be a movie based on the comics drawn by Don Lawrence? (Notibly: Storm or The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire)

I'll reserve judgement until I actually see it, but I'm very skeptical that this new Conan will hold a candle to the original. VERY SKEPTICAL.

The first Conan certainly isn't a gem in cultural or artistical terms,...it's actually kind of bad
but this new Conan 'continuation', even if it has awardwinning actors, acting, fx, tits, story, the works, is just another example of trying to cash in on old succes, because they can't be arsed or apparently aren't paid enough to come up with a new succes

So here is probably the part where we talk about piracy preventing studios from taking risks in 'new' territory
No, here's where we say "Fuck 'em!" and agree that reducing copyright to 5 years max will make studios either innovate and release more or go down being a bunch of clueless fuckwits that can only write movies that certainly don't deserve a 'lifetime+70years' protection

Same plot? a one day bender trying to fend off death from the poison given to the guy? and Amy Smart getting boned in public in front of everyone?

I just saw an ad on TV last night for a remake of Fright Night! For fucks sake, this is getting ridiculous. Are they that pathetic that they can't come up with anything new. What's next, a remake of Howard the Duck? Showgirls? Battlefield Earth?

Fright Night doesnt look too bad. Id like to see them remake Battlefield Earth rather than a well made movie........

More or less the same with a slight variation. Still good cheap entertainment. If you liked the first you should like this as well. I like Jason S. even though most of his stuff is very similiar. He did a movie called revolver which if I recall is a little diferant than his others but still a good watch.
