Uncle Tom's cabin was a decent tune but i wasn't too into them at all. 32 pennies is listenable.
Jani wrote all the tunes didn't he? I know the guitar players didn't play the solos on the first two albums,
Tommy Gervins did some of them. I'm pretty sure if Jani wrote all the tunes, he was financially pretty sound,
it's too bad he went out this way. booze and pills are a dangerous mix. always has been. lost many friends that way
as well as your regular overdoses too. when you're 47, it's real hard on your body. Your body is like a car only you can't

Warrant was a bit too corny for me. the coreographed moves on stage where cheesey as you can get. the first CD sucked..... but...... I will say uncle Tom's cabin was a cool tune. and I thought the best gem on that CD was "Mr. Rainmaker" it was never a hit, but I thought it rocked. most people never even heard the tune. its a sold rock song.

The ironic thing was that the "Cherry Pie" album was originally supposed to be called "Uncle Tom's Cabin" (named after the song of the same name). Lane wrote "Cherry Pie" as a throwaway piece just to shut the record rep up. It wasn't supposed to be a legitimate tune meant for cutting to record.
However, the record got a hold of the tune and decided to showcase THAT as the marquee song and album title instead. I've seen several interviews where Lane literally said he'd shoot himself in the head if he knew he would churn out "Cherry Pie". That song was apparently the bane of his existence and it probably got the best of him.Comment

I'm 47..and all my old friends (my EXACT age) are dead!!! That's what I've learned as soon as I looked at Facebook. Where I learned of Jani's death.

Jani prolly needed xanax from being "The cherry pie guy". The perfect example of a double edged sword. He prolly had a hell of a Facebook page..several godammit! That didn't help. Mespace..Myface..perfect medium to vent 'bout your botched vasectomy, and the joys of Endoscopy. Where's Endy anyway? Endyscopy!!!
Obviously, I'm not even close to being a Warrant fan..but he seemed like a good man regaurdless...at 47! ..jeeez.

Didn't they play Jackson at some point too?

Warrant wasn't one of my favorites to be sure, but tere were some songs I liked. Mr. Rainmaker, Uncle Toms Cabin ect. When Cherry Pie came out, they were pretty much having to do whatever the record companys wanted so I overlooked a lot of the cheese. I was kind of hoping they would Vindicate themselve a little more with Dog Eat Dog, and it was better, but it wasn't enough to rank them better. I liked this tune a lot though..

It sucks, but again, i dont have a ton of sympathy. A bottle of vodka and a bunch of pills? Yeah, youre probably gonna end up dead. When he played here in 06, our singer had to sing a couple of his songs, because he was basically passed out onstage.
And i never could get past his problem with cherry pie.. Yeah, its a cheesy song, so what? It was a top ten, along with some of their other cheesy songs.
