I think it's great that there are luxury and vintage markets in addition to "players" instruments - otherwise, there might not be "USA Custom Shop" versions of our favorite guitars, plus wouldn't it be a shame if all the old guitars were treated as "disposable" like an old television set or computer. Stuff either has value, or it doesn't - can't be both.
For the record, I don't have any "investment" guitars. But I certainly don't mind the thought of ending up with a few along the way.
