So I was on a TDY for the past couple of weeks, got to visit NYC on 9/11

for the 10th anniversary of the attack. Pretty momentous occasion, and a great reminder of why this job is worth dying for just when I was starting to get a bit complacent.




the memorial, they were reading out the names of the victims still.









for some reason this got me almost as emotional as the memorial (1st time being to this site)

I need to visit NYC soon. I haven't had the opportunity to go since I enlisted. I'd like to spend a weekend there to keep myself in perspective.

if you do, and you happen to ride the NJ transit trains/buses you ride free with mil ID. Also, subway stations where they have an attendant will usually let you in for free with your ID.
