My favorite Dave being a tool moment was when he did that short stint with Line6. He went on and on about how his Marshalls sounded like shit in comparison. Not two years later he was back to using Marshalls AND had a sig Marshall cab. Wonder why he went back, I bet tone had NOTHING to do with it though, because his Marshalls sounded like shit compared to his Line6 preamp.

Not really. Hes great, but not amazing.

They are so quick to call metallica sell outs, when in fact megadeth has sold out just as much. The only difference is metallica is far more popular and they actually succeded so they (as usually comes with fame) are the sell outs.


Megadeth have whored themselves out with different guitar companies, going on tv, signature strings, amps. Not to mention Risk (where they tried to go more radio friendly and failed).

Though I agree the whole Chris is better than Marty thing was disrespectful... better is all subjective. While Chris could play faster and more precise than Marty, Marty was the one who wrote solos people remember, and to me thats what counts. As much as I like Chris' playing, I really dont remember any of his solos from Endgame. Theyre more about squeezing in as many notes as possible, not feeling. When you hear Marty play, you KNOW its him. When you hear Chris play, you just hear a shredder.
