I have a 42" lcd with Idk what resolution. Some movies are incredible on it, but some movies and hd programs drive me nuts. The first movie I watched after I got it was the wash and it made me hate the tv till I watched something else.
It just makes some movies look like 3d but not in a good way. Like the people aren't actually standing where they are, but on a different plane. But on most movies/tv shows its just awesome

Congratz! Still have my old TV and my kids are begging me almost everyday to get a new flat screen... I told them they'll have to wait until the actual one dies...

I'm with Benoa, I got an old school 32" Toshiba...still works great, and my living room is relatively small. Will wait for prices to get ridiculous. Will be looking for 40-46" 1080 LED, maybe 3D.

Trying to figure out what that could be. If it's just a few movies, it could be an intentional "creative" decision.

I can say that I hate frame interpolation. It makes a movie look like a soap opera. Yuck. If your TV has that feature, you might check how it is set. My parents bought an LCD TV late last year and I was HATING things, then I found it was manipulating the frame rate...once I turned that off all was good.

I still have a 60" projection tv in my living room, but a 37" 1080 Vizio in the bedroom. We HDMI the laptop for blu-ray movies. The Surround sound is with the LR tv, @1000 watts, it will shake the walls. I love watching Live After Death on it. It stays till it dies, then like RacerX I'll go LED 3D, just don't know what size...

If I remember correctly, I believe the recommendtion to sizing your TV is 6-7" for every foot away you will be from it. -Lou

Lou and Zeegs (thanks guys) bought the complete Ron Jeremy collection on Blu-Ray 3D. You can see me behind the scenes. I was Ron Jeremy's stunt double from 2000-2006...until I got too fat. But I receive royalties for all things RJ. So order your copy today!!

Glad someone else noticed this. I have really noticed a big difference in the past 3 years where companies go for this look. It's not natural at all. I bought a Pioneer Elite Kuro plasma display a few years ago (before they stopped making them.) Thing looks great.

Twitch, I have had the same TV you just got for about the last year and I love it.
All my friends with 1080p can't even tell that it's only running at 720p!
I couldn't justify the price hike to go to 1080p when I couldn't even see the difference.
Fast motion is crystal clear too. No blurring at all. Can't beat the plasma refresh rate!
Hate the screen burn in though, but there is a white screen program built into the menu to make up for it.

Congrats on the TV and I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do!
