Probably hit by a car like the others we've previously lost. Good natured kitten found dead in my neighbour's drive today. Buried her in the garden. WTF can you do? Nothing. Just hope her sister doesn't follow in her footsteps. Can still see her lifeless eyes in my mind. Dammit.

Hey, Wilksy-Baby, no mucking about now, you have my sympathy, really. It's a shitty thing to happen, you've lost part of your family. However, think of the many cats that don't even get the short life where they are loved and looked after like yours was, you did her proud.
Normal service will resume tomorrow...So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!
I nearly broke her back

Sad story.
Our family must have gone through 20 cats when I was growing up. It was ridiculous.
With one cat, at the end of the day, my family would always put him in the law mower shed at the back of the property. That's where his food and water was. We put him in there at night for protection and so forth. We'd always put him by his food and he'd try to run out as we would close the garage door. Mom or dad usually closed the garage door and were quick enough that he wouldn't get out.
Well, one time they were away, so the babysitter, my sister, and I went back to do the nightly task. He must have got out five times while I was trying to close the door. I thought I'd be super quick on my last try. The result: I smashed the poor kitty with the garage door. I'll spare the details, but he died right there in front of us. I was probably 5 years old at the time and was devastated. I screamed so loud and for so long at least two or three neighbors came over to see what in the world was wrong. They thought I had been severely injured or something. Anyway, a cat's death doesn't get much worse than that.

I'm sorry for your loss, man! Never lost a cat that way but I lost a Shepherd mix puppy when I was a kid. It sucks, but for the life she had, she knew you loved her. If you could keep the other cat inside it would help her chances, don't know how your folks feel about that. The cats will always try to get out but that doesn't mean it's good for them. Again, very sorry for your loss.Ron is the MAN!!!!

Put our dog down over 4 years ago, and still tear up if I think about it for too long. Like smacked said, you gave it a better life than many have had. Sorry for your loss.
EricGood Lord! The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up its butt!

Sorry to hear about this too, Wilks. I don't have any cats, but pets are a big part of our family still. We have 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, tons of fish and an African Grey parrot.
Have lost a few pets over the years to cars. There's a dude in our neighborhood that's known as "The Puppy Killer" because if he sees escaped animals, he will try with all he's got to mow them down with his vehicle. Bastard.
Good to see we have so many others here who cherish pets as actual family members, and not as possessions. My Gear: Stoneman SG-1, Hufschmid Tantalum H6, ESP KH-6, Sully #8 JCF One-Off, Templar GuitarWorks Relic Prototype, James Hetfield Tribal Hunt KL Explorer, Coobeetsa CCG-10-DX PRO Eagle, Schecter Hellraiser C-1 Hybrid, Daly Heiro Custom, Gibson Les Paul Custom, Gibson SG Menace, Peavey Vypyr 60 Tube
