I saw this elsewhere and figure I would spread the word. James' tumor is back and having it's way with him. A paypal account has been set up for donations in the event anyone wants to help out.

Murphy is a monster of a player and one hell of a nice guy, fighting a cunt of a disease. It's my pleasure to do anything I can do to ease his burden...financially.

Wow, what an album that is! Both great guitarists on one album!

As teenagers, we would frequent this little shop in Bangalore, India where the guy had cd's of all these albums and would make a copy on tape. It cost us $1 to record on tape and we had to bring in our own tape. $1 was a lot of money back then, early 90's when Bangalore was not yet hit with the high-tech boom. I still remember seeing the Spiritual healing cd on the rack in that shop.

I almost choked when I saw James was sick again, it really eats me up to know what he's going through. I was just listening to "Low" (Testament) and being blown away(again) by the way that dude plays. It's just so fuggin sad, man. I'm going to pop in The Gathering and throw him some vibes.

That really sucks, James Murphy is one of those guys who has a unique style and tone that is instantly recognisable on any album that he plays on. It's a shame that he is so underrated. I hope he gets better.
