Yeah..that's me man. Total metal/shred school. People say I sound like Zakk or Dime. I never learned a note of their music but alot of us just draw from the same wells..so the similarities are there. I have my favorite bands that give me escape of metal. Lots of classic rock, classical, Italian Opera, a few movie soundtrack and old school funk, and bands like The Tea Party, The Gathering, Pain of Salvation, newer Tiamat (not metal) and Annekke and Tarja's solo stuff. I love great singers male and female. I love alot of Dan Swano and Devin Townsend projects that are so far from metal. But for whatver reason that stuff is always lumped with metal...well they're roots are metal.

I'm becoming more of a fan of Les Paul and Mary Ford...now that dude was a god IMO!

But I'm NOT buying Lulu!!!

Don't get me wrong as I'm not a giant fanboi, but if your best guitarist list has Bruce Sprinsteen and NOT Uli Roth, you don't know whaddafug you are talkin' about.

Oh man..yer right. But I seen that all the time. Was Uli ever on a cover of GW? Fred Durst was!! That's when I cancelled that mag..yeah it was that long ago..10 years prolly. Then I subscribed and cancelled again. Hey, was Jeff Loomis ever on the cover..?

What about Billy Corgan, some did say he was a genius at that time. Guys like that were always on GW covers. There is a GREAT youtube vid where Billy and Uli are hanging together..it's pretty funny really. check it out if you get the chance..

The topic as a whole is subjective, so why bother getting your panties inna twist over it? At the end of the day, their list hasn't swayed your opinion one way or another.

That being said, RS carries as much weight with me as a hydrogen atom.

Though, I'd be interested in talking with the Admins about coming up with the official JCF list and then maybe trying to get some press over at Blabbermouth.

Flamenco A Go-Go is a great album!

I love that CD!!! He's such an amazing player. Todd, I think one of the best guitar records (my faves) is Vince Niel's "Exposed". I was blown away when that came out!! Just amazing tone, playing and writing!! It really influenced me alot at that time..and still does!
