  • I finally got to see TSO last night. WOW!

My wife was able to score some free VIP passes for the TSO concert last night. We're talking Suite Tickets, VIP parking passes, the whole 9 yards. I've always wanted to see them but never got the chance. I actually thought I might not get to go this time as I was stuck in Lexington KY last week for work and wasn't sure I'd be able to get back home in time, but the stars aligned and it all worked out.
Man what an amazing show! The box seats were perfect, there wasn't a view of the stage that I couldn't see. To see all that emense talent on one stage was a pleasure, and if you haven't seen them, I highly recommend it. I know I will be there every year from now on!

Saw them for the 8th time last night here in Minnesota. It's a Christmas tradition for my older daughter and I to go. My youngest daughter started joining us a few years ago so this was her 3rd show.

      Glad you enjoyed it.

Awesome show yes, but do they still have that narrator guy drone on & on before each number? I was getting real tired of that: I want some songs, not friggin' narration that seems to take up half the show

Yeah, he's still there. It's a story. Somebody's gotta tell it.

Local venue says they're coming...in MAY

They've usually come through by now, or about to. Odd year indeed. First miss in 7 years

They're doing the Beethoven tour again this spring; that's the May show. I caught that last year. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I would welcome killing the story, and just rocking out for 2 hours. They have enough "A" material to fill out over two hours, with some Christmas material to keep the spirit of the event, and some non-Christmas fare for those who want to rock out.

8 years of the same first 2/3 of the show is wearing a bit thin on me, I'm afraid.

Wait, is that danged narrator on that tour, too?

I can never go. It brings dark moments I'd much not rather think about. I bought the first TSO CD when my wife was in dire shape at the hospital for 5 months. My son and I listened to it at that time to keep his mind and spirits up.

They were watching old Christmas vids the other day when my grandmother was with us. Man, she loved me like no other. I just can't watch it.

                        Sorry to hear that.

I can't see them again either but for a different reason. Here in San Antonio they used to play in the Majestic theater, which is where I first saw them. The Majestic is an old-school classy venue with all the classical architecture and shit, and was the perfect place for them. But for the past few years they've only played the AT&T Center, which is bigger but not the same. I can't help but to feel like something's been lost in the venue change.

They were even better in years past when Chris Caffery was slinging the Jackson Rhoads on stage instead of Deans
I saw them in years past with Caffery/Skolnik on guitar. Some nice shredding.
