LOL!! since its christmas time, I had a memory flash back to this old 70's christmas movie. it was a Jim henson creation. Emmet Otter's jugband christmas, they had a talent show at the end of the movie, and The river bottom nightmare band showed up and kicked ass. yes, cheesy and corny, but its funny as hell. the cape and platform boots on the keyboard player crack me up!!!!

does anyone else remember this from their childhood? watch the youtube video.

Nope. I think you are suppressing some finger-up-the-bum abuse somewhere along the line
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

    I nearly broke her back

Look at the birds up in the trees. We're not birds... we're a jug band!

Used to love that movie. I gotta find it on DVD.

Pretty sure the River Bottom Nightmare Band was what first got me into metal and made me want to play guitar.

Outside of my first Kiss album, I have to say they inspired me as well.

Good call. I checked the dates, I got my first Kiss album before this special came out. For some reason I thought it was older...

One of my favorite Christmas specials, can't watch it for a while though. It was one of those things I did with mom (RIP) when I was young. And yeah, Pa could've made a fortune in the snake oil buisness, but there just wasn't anybody who wanted to oil a snake.

The fish jumping in the pool is goofy too. the comments on the youtube page had one that said...... "a go go dancing fish, that is bad ass."

What is the name of the movie? I want to show the kids using Netflix.

                        Thanks.
