I'm guessing the sound editor no longer wanted to be employed by CNN

damn...just damn. Hefty FCC fine coming their way.

I wonder if that was an on purpose "take this job and shove it" move by an editor

My guess is that it was some kind of joke between editors, staff, or something and it got through by mistake. Also, If I had to bet, I'd bet that the guy who did it was African-American. No matter how racist a white guy is, he'd have to be completely insane to put something like that together, especially in a diverse workplace.

Well, maybe it's just my thinking, but how many whites of the "class of persons" (used for lack of a better term) you would think CNN hires would actually know the rap genre, much less that song in particular. Had to be a prank utilizing a song found during a search for songs with the N word OR a black worker there with a sense of humor. Either way they screwed up bad when it made it through and as stated above, I doubt the person works there any longer.

I think so too. Her "apology" did not seem sincere at all. she was still laughing.

I actually don't think the N word qualifies for a fine.

What some Jo Schmoe wrote on his blog doesn't prove if it was real or not. It just voices what his opinion on it is. Whether it was a setup or an accident remains to be seen, but either way, it sure seems to have actually aired thus the apology for it.
