Is it based on a true Story?

Well, they had some UFO-researches going, I'm not sure how far they came. It's been a while since we had a look behind the moon as well, isn't it?
All eyes we have out there keep on staring into the opposite direction...

But this film could be really cool I hope.
Been watching the trailers for quite a while...
Doesn't look all too bad for a donation-based production and the story's got some potential to become a classic.

What did I miss with these foam-ducks anyway?
                Bill's posting them everywhere...

I wonder it it has moral overtones? I saw District 9 last month. Peter Jackson getting more back to his roots. Bad Taste being one of my favorites films. Funny as feck. District 9 had moral overtones, starts off much in the same kind of humour as Bad Taste, but it spirals into this story about Nigerian realism and the the corruption and hypocrisy of the UN and the elite and ends up presnting some serious questions about western concepts of humanity. But still well funny. I think he lost the plot with Lord of the Rings. I don't think this will end up being serious will it?

Peeps. The Ducks. Its Peeps. I don't think they got them at Lidl or Audi's Micha or even at Tesco's ove here.

They gonna release this in Germany then Micha you reckon? I still thought the Swastika was banned over there? They'll have to edit it highly to get past the film censorship committee eh, won't have much of a film left.

No, never seen any of these and now they pop up out of nothing in every second thread I read lately.
                      Quite confusing...

I doubt Iron Sky is about any kind of overtones.
AFAIK it's not meant to be taken seriously at all.

I'm not sure actually when a Swastika is censored and evil and when it's ok.
In historical context it's alright, there's Nazistuff on TV almoust every day and there's no censorship at all.

But it's about to be shown in Germany as well anyway. It had its debut on Berlinale this week as I've heard.
Not sure whether they have to change some things for German market.
The Nazis in Hellboy or Indiana Jones were ok, but in videogames like the Wolfenstein series it's still a nogo.
                      We'll see I guess.

As the leftward facing swastika (as opposed to the rightward swastika adopted by the Nazis) is a Buddhist symbol and is seen everywhere in Japan, I looked up "卍 ドイツ (Deutchland)". According to wikipedia Japan, when Japanese festivals are televised in Germany, the swastikas are censored out.

On another Nazi note, my friend wanted his 4 year old daughter to learn Do Re Mi, so he had her watch The Sound of Music over and over one weekend. I went over to their place on Sunday evening. She saw me come in the room, saluted me, and said,

                        "Heil Hitler!"

Bwahahaha!! I did that too when I was little (my mom's Dutch and has German friends).

Did she give the straight arm (Nazi) salute? If so,

The 'swastika' has been around for a very long time, used by many cultures to represent different things... The consensus on early mans use is that it relates to the position of their 'people' in relation to the orbital patterns.... and wait for it......

I saw an ad for Iron Sky a year ago and then anticipation went away until recently when the YouTube preview was sent my way again. I think it's looks to be the best cheesy sci-fi war trailer since Starship Troopers came out. I'll be getting this BlueRay.

BTW - In Catholic school we had Franciscan Brothers and one had a very German last name. One day the class clown walked in late from recess and was immediately chewed out by the brother. When finished he was told to march down to the office for a detention.
The kid saluted and shouted "Heil Hitler".

                              The shat hit the fan.

Brother dragged him by the arm down to the office with the kid squealing, "BUT I thought you'd like that since you're GERMAN!?!"

Brother loudly replied, "I am German BUT I'M NOT A NAZI!!"
