The price of Peeps doubled for Easter...so, I blame Jesus for dyin' for our sins and stuff!!

But there will be a clearance after Easter...so that's good.

Znoox from Gliese 581 c said they used water powered vehicles millions of years ago. Right before they became a level 1 species. He said Earth is mostly water, but yet we pay for bottled water. They're laughing at us man!

        Not really.

        "Spek-o-laters".
No real rhyme or reason just be aware of two things:
Pumpers don't make much $ from selling gasoline.
        And.
Despite "record profits" neither do the producers of gasoline.

        Two answers...
Get oil off the commodity markets and find a way to
prevent OPEC from determining the price of crude.

How would that be possible without taking OPEC over?
Oh wait, it wouldn't be..... Kind of a bitch how they moderate supply and demand like they do, currently the world is using less petro products than the last 5 years and yet the price is artificially held high... Peak oil, my ass.

Commodities manipulation and greed, I'm gonna design an engine that runs on peeps. Sure the price of peeps will triplpe overnight.....

I'm soooo glad you said that Jay. I wanted to..but didn't want to make ALL these threads Peep threads!! hahaha

That's a great idea!!! But in 2012..you'd thing we could use water as fuel..period. End of hopelessness.

It won't end until we have energy supply diversity. Speculation, keystone, drill baby drill ain't gonna change the fact that the entire f'ing world wants oil and there is only so much of it to go around.

I bought a Volt a few months back, getting 200+ MPG, charges with a standard outlet, and it's a damn nice car. Since it's got a gas engine backup you can take it on long trips too. I didn't actually buy it because I want to save money on energy. I simply don't like the fact that every time you fill your tank you're funding some middle east asshole.

I have a vehicle that runs on LPG (propane), it's an excellent fuel and costs less than gas or diesel. And it's just a by-product of the oil and gas refining process.

And the best part is it's an old 390 Ford truck that gets about 10 mpg. So you really can still harm the environment AND support American assholes instead of middle east assholes!

Propane is a great energy source and not all that environmentally damaging compared to oil. Fact is electric cars where I live are effectively natural gas powered since that's the dominant source of electricity generation. At least the american asshole is likely to spend the money on something other than weapons & bombs to be aimed at "the west". I hope so anyway.

I think insurance companies are worse than the oil companies but thats another story.

Don't get me started on what the mining process does to the land to make the battery cores.

I'll take a turbo diesel from Mercedes or Audi.

Agree 100% with the first statement. How can't they design an electric/hybrid car that looks like a normal car? And do they to put all those gizmos on the dashboard? For me gadgets = power needs = less energy to drive the electric motors?

As the diesel, I'm seriously looking at the Volks Jetta for my next car. Would love a Merc or Audi but can't afford one.

                        --------

I've been wanting a Jeep Wrangler 4 doors since they've been on the market. I like the look and the fact you can sit 5 and remove the top. Did Rent one on my last trip but... here, we are approaching 1.50$/liter (5,68$/gallon), and these Jeep are heavy drinkers!

Car manufacturers in North America are still shy of offering some decent diesel engines.

Hybrids cost less than a SUV, I've had more compliments on my insight that any car I've owed(which just kills me) but they are not that bad anymore(except for the toyota), the battery is small price to pay in a land fill compared to the our air quality, I doubt mining for the battery is no worse than mining for coal, the toxic water from nuc. plants, or drilling for oil.
you have me on the diesel cars(except the price). Diesel is less regulated than gas and the trucks that run on diesel cause more air polution then cars do but the new diesel cars do run very clean.

I have a large family. Cars like the Prius and Insight are simply too small.
The Tahoe hybrid cost $10k more than the regular version.
As for diesel truck comment, the pollution issues are for older tech engines.
Modern diesel engines in todays trucks are cleaner than most gas engines of the same size.
Just like the motorcycle myth that they are cleaner.
A motorcycle engine has no pollution controls what so ever.
It spews more hydrocarbons than most 4 cylinder cars.
