Strawman argument since motorcycles are a limited mode of transportation. They're simply not as versatile hence their lower numbers.

But if you want to get into a mpg/hydrocarbon output vs. capacity, there are many 4 passenger cars that are 4 to 5 times heavier, yet get the same average mpg as a motorcycle and produce less pollution.

And no... catalytic converters on motorcycles are not as efficient as those found on a car, but they are better than no converter at all.

Yet motorcyclists aren't stuck in gridlock for hours each day

They also don't have climate control that requires additional fuelconsumption to keep 4 people comfortable

But in any defense anyone has concerning the 'enviroment'

Wasted on me, I'm with this guy:

        They are in AZ.

Try shooting traffic on a bike here and you'll find yourself either a smear on someones door panel or explaining to the officer why you think you're special and don't have to obey traffic laws.
I love watching the assholes from Cali come here and nearly get killed when they try that shit on our freeways.

And for the record, I'm not anti-motorcycle. Rode one for years. Just too fucking dangerous for me to enjoy it anymore. Been cut off, "bumped" and nearly killed by self absorbed idiots who are to fixated on what's happening in the car and not outside of it.
The last straw for me was doing a spread eagle flip over a POS Dodge Aries when the blind bitch turned left right in front of me. Went right into the passenger door. Happened so fast I didn't have time to touch the brakes. Not a single skid mark (on the street anyway).
My brain bucket and jacket saved me from a spit skull and severe road rash. Broke both hands on impact.

        George is the best.
        And 100% correct.

The bus is not very practical for many Americans, limited routes and a MUCH BIGGER country. I personally hate a long commute and have managed to work no more than 10 miles from home for the past 10 years....

Nimitz youre exactly right. my lovely wife who never gets mad was PISSED when she bought milk, eggs and some hamburger meat and it was 23 bucks. Why are they doing this to us? I mean one thing that really gets me, theyre trying to help the poverty stricken nations by giving to them, and the reprocussions are making us a 3rd world country. you think ay country is gonna send to us when were all poor and starving? i know thats not a major reason, but FUCK EM. feed your own. let them figure it out. theyre human, they have the capacity for intelligent thought, eventually theyll either move to an area that has water, so they can grow shit, or figure out a way to lure and trap animals.

Don't forget here in the U Essay we(congress) legally have to use ethanol, because it's supposedly better for the environment(it's not, but that's a different thread altogether). This is food, currently it's at 10%, with congress having raised the level to 20% over the next few years. Plus farm subsidies, paying farmers not to grow food???

Anyways, less corn = less people food, livestock feed and whiskey. Thereby raising the prices of base commodities....

I heard on the news yesterday that Obama has ordered a investigation into the price spike in gas. This morning the price at my local station actually went down for the first time in 4 weeks (4 cents) a gallon? Is it a coincidence ?

That was my nod towards 'biofuel'

Getting methane out of shit is one thing, but growing something like linseed to power 100 cars for a year, needs vast amounts of land to harvest enough of it

It's supply and demand for US Dollars I think - the world doesn't want them like they used to. So pretty much anything, as measured against a US buck, goes up in price as the dollar becomes worth less.

100% agree with Jayster on how ethanol = less whiskey though. Maybe it's time to try some quality Rye whiskey instead of that Jack Daniels stuff anyway.
