I was waiting for Opeth after a gig and Van Williams from Nevermore came out asking the people waiting if anyone had a pickup truck to help them bring shit to their hotel. I did. So there I was in my Ford Ranger with Van Williams in the front seat and touring guitarist Chris Broadrick in the back helping them transport guitars and crap. Then they invited my to hang out with them and Opeth on the bus. It was cool.

Oh Hellbro..this is silly. I had Pizza with Doug Scarrat (Saxon), and bought Lips and Rob Denny's because they were starving and broke after they played . We ordered the Original Grand Slam for 2.99 at that time. That was way before their silly movie..and John from Shadows Fall puked on my Boots.

Back in summer '96 I went to see Independence Day at the movies at some theater in Boston with a girl I was seeing back then.

Once the movie is over, we are moving with the crowd through the exit hallway which had a small door at the end, which led to the main floor. We where at the very end of the line, so I was starting to get nervous because of the time it took all this people to leave by this fucking tiny door.

By the time we arrive to the door I let this girl go through it first (being a gentleman and all that bullshit) and by the time I try to leave I see these two huge blonde girls carrying some kind of suitcases who are trying to enter through the same door I was trying to leave by. In the midle of these two girls there is a small kind of guy, I mean really skinny, long hair dude walking with them.

At first I thought ´what the hell, I´ll let one of the blonde girls in (again a big fuck gentleman who needed to score that night) and then I'll go out, they´re trying to enter through an exit door so fuck'em, I'm not waiting any more).´

The first huge blonde goes through the door, and as soon as I see some space I move. But the skinny shitty guy thought it would be a good idea to go through the door too, meaning I had to wait once again. I said to my self ´hell no, one in one out´ so I rush through the door just as the shitty guy did, and just to teach the fucker a lesson I pushed him with my shoulder against the door frame. As soon as I leave the door I turn around to see the fucker's face, to my surprise, it was Steven Tyler. I had no time to say anything.

2000, RHCP VIP !! The Big Lebowski is my all-time fave. When I saw my bro-in-funk Flea. I yelled ...."Ve Vant Da Muney Lebowski..or ve vuck you up !!!"..as I was running toward him. He held his arms open to greet me. But I stumbled forward taking him down with me. When we got up his sock was in my mouth...and there is he was ..sockless..in full bloom.

He autographed that sock..and gave me $100..!!

We had candles, Mr. Bubble, Air Supply mix tape. I was painting her toe nails pink sparkle..while VV gave me sweet handlove. She was amazing in Phantom Blue.

Vixen, Phantom Blue, early Lita Ford were underrated players !!!

I was at a reunion Vio-lence show at Slims in SF... I was sitting at my typical spot at the balcony... Exodus was a table away. Even though Paul wasn't in the band he was there with Rick and Gary... Paul came up to me and said he'd heard about our band and wanted to manage us. Had a long talk with him and we exchanged numbers... Less than a week later he was found dead. That was both epic and sad.

Another funny moment... was at the Stone in SF... I don't remember what the show was, as I'd go up there 2-3x a week just to see random bands. Was at the pizza joint across the street earlier, friends were drinking beer so I was hanging out... Hetfield came up and we played a few rounds... he was getting a bit drunk and my group headed across the street while he kept playing pinball. Later that night in the pit, Hetfield came back and was thrashing in the pit... sorta. More like stumbling into people, falling down and getting trampled. After picking him up the 2nd or 3rd time, I yelled at him to go sit down somewhere and pushed him away from the pit. Didn't see him for the rest of the night. EDIT: I'm pretty sure the show was Slayer for their Live Undead tour... might have been Hell Awaits though.

Another time on broadway, we were by the Kabuki or Mabuhay and a group of us were making fun of Kirk Hammet about a half block away sitting on some steps with some other dude because he was playing with his action figures and toy space guns with some other collector playing show and tell. I think we harassed him for about 5 minutes before finding something else to do.

Another time we were backstage for Motley Crue, Whitesnake and Poison... my friend's sister was one of the girl singers for the Girls Girls Girls tour... we were the only non-glam metalheads that were there so we were basically sitting at a table with metallica bored off our asses. I did get to hang out with Brad Gillis that night, the only true guitar "idol" of mine... I kept pestering him to give me lessons, and he was nice but kept refusing. The highlight of the night was when I met Heather Locklear... I kind of accidentally grabbed her ass after we took a picture as I was moving away while she turned to someone else wanting to talk to her... she looked back in my eyes an had a big huge smile. God, she was so hot back then and I was so smitten. I was the one who blushed. haha

Shortly after Cliff Burton's death, at a megadeth concert at One Step Beyond, Mustaine was all drugged up on something really hard, had a memorial for Cliff for his parents who were in attendance. They were about 10 feet away from us when the spotlight hit... of course I went up and offered my condolences. It was a sweet moment but then Mustaine kind of ruined it by going on a half hour drug induced whine/rant until the crowd booed enough and he left stage.. he came back shortly after and finished the set. That was a weird night.

The first time I met Buckethead, he was outside the Stone kinda leaning on a car as roadies were unloading gear... I went up to him asked him a couple things, then asked if he was Buckethead, which he said no. Of course, he's not buckethead when he's not wearing the mask, and most people didn't seem to know who he was back then. This was original Deli-Creeps era and it was an amazing show.

I seem to remember someone making a joke about him actually being Weird Al Yankovick minus the glasses.

I actually feel lucky because I got to see Deli Creeps like 6 or 7 times back in the day.

1987 We were at a Slayer concert waiting forthe doors to open. The three of us decide to walk around back and the way they had the busses lined up we ended up walking right up to the door of the first bus. There was really no other way to walk. We walked up and started talking with what I guess was one of the drivers or roadies and then out poped Tom Araya and walked up to us and started chatting away. I can't even remember what he was talking about. We stood there for a good 10 minutes with him while all the other fans were behind baracades on the other side of the parking lot. That's all I got. Kinda lame.

I talked to Tymon from Cynic/Exivious for about an hour before a gig in Toronto about the benefits of New Standard Tuning. That was a fun conversation.

Another great moment... I think it was a Testament show, but it could have been Legacy... I smacked into the bassist for Death Angel in the pit... I guess he got offended or something, he started going after me... then him and the drummer. When it seemed like it was looking like a fight was gonna start... a couple of their friends stood behind them and formed a little line. Two of my friends that were there saw this and stood behind me and we were gonna rock, until they came up, shook our hands and told us who they were... we already knew, but we lol'd because they pussed out. I antagonized the bassist for about year after... until they were at a friend's band after-show party. He wasn't really a bad guy or anything and they were all really cool... Rob was a bit chatty but they were mostly quiet most of the time.

Or the first time I did a t-table dive at the Stone when Slayer started playing Reign in Blood for the first time in SF.

One time when I was like 15 I was at the mall with a friend and we saw some guys with glam hair... we were probably messed up on something, we tried to pick a fight with them... but they were a bit older than us and would have ended up beating us to death. After trading insults and jabs, which they were really well mannered and respectable, ended up being the band White Lion at my local mall hanging out at one of the better restaurants. They were really cool to us... although I never really liked their music too much (they did have a couple of good songs) they humored us and were friendly... though I don't remember why they were there.
