Also see if you can confirm or deny the rumor of the reunion gig for GNR.

Here's what I want to know. Does everybody just call him Slash? Does anybody call him by his given name? (Saul I think...)

gods, I hope not. The stuff he has been doing is so much cooler than some painful nostalgic reunion thing

            Yup, Saul Hudson. Good Q.

Charlie Sheen hasn't come by our rehearsals yet, but Cheap Trick dropped in tonight and Rick Nielson and I got in a pick chucking war. I did get to meet Charlie Sheen when we did the Comedy Central Roast. And Mike Tyson, William Shatner, Steve-O, etc...

As far as a GNR Reunion all I can say for certain is Slash WILL BE at the RnR HoF induction, as will Axl. However nobody is rehearsing so I doubt they will play live. I won't be there and neither will any of Slash's gear.

Yes, Slash's name is Saul Hudson, that's the name on his driver's license and on the personal checks he has written me. I have heard a few butlers and flight attendants and whatnot call him "Mr. Hudson". His wife calls him Slashy, everyone else calls him Slash. Supposedly his mom called him "Saul" but she has passed on. I call him The Man with The Hat.

As far as the guitar collection goes, I hate to say this on the JCF, but there are 150+ guitars in the collection and I have yet to see a Jackson. Granted I haven't seen ALL his guitars, he keeps the most delicate ones in a vault, which I have been to but not seen everything inside(I was there pulling out a 1938 Dobro). If you are into Les Pauls, there is no better gig in the world. We've got everything, a REAL '59, a Pearly Gates(courtesy of Mr. Gibbons himself), and tons of Slash signature guitars. And my favorite, the Derrig Les Paul. The guitar Slash played on Appetite and every album since(including this most recent). It is the guitar the most recent Slash signature models are based on, and it is seriously the best playing and sounding LP I have ever played, and I've played my share. I took it to Seymour Duncan(himself) to have the pickups worked on. They had slightly degoussed over the years.

And Bill, as far as what I see and do, let's just say this:

After the last gig I did, I said goodnight to Lenny Kravitz and Joe Perry, got in my limo(just me and the bodyguard), went back to the mansion and ordered a stripper pole sent up from room service. 'Nuff said.

Though we don't have any Jacksons you may recognize this guitar I was working on today...

Very cool. Slash is an amazing player, and he always seemed to me like he would be a cool guy to hang out with too.

Don't know if it's true, but I just always got that feeling.

So your his limo driver then?

Sounds like a great job, I always wondered about how someone would become a guitar tech or something for a great guitarist. I can setup and fix guitars pretty well, I can trouble shoot wiring and solder etc and I am pretty apt at programming patches and other rig stuff. But you can't exactly put that on a resume!

That's on my resume. You also have to know how to deal with out of control fans, how to bribe foreign officials and what to do when a drug deal goes bad.

I see some cool stories coming I hope.
I couldn't do the bribes and deals, not my bag, everything else would be a dream.

I met him outside a show in Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada) in the summer of 1987. They had just opened for The Cult and nobody here knew who they were (AFD was not released in Canada until the next day). He wasn't rich nor famous and he treated everyone in my group (we were the only people even near him) very nicely and was very personable to all.

I have always had a great respect for him since then.

                                Congrats on the sweet gig!
My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.

Yeah...too bad the forum doesn't have a minimum IQ.
