Not gonna lie about my disappointment. The Pens deserve that win because the Flyers went to shit hard. I had bad feelings about this game when they decided to start Bryz and for some reason Bobrovsky sucked hard too.

Pens give up an early field goal but manage to win by a touchdown...what a crazy game! Refs called it tight so it never really got out of hand beyond a cheap shot by Rinaldo.

Well, I am glad the Pens didn't get swept, and I'd love to see this go to seven games. If the Pens can play like they did last night they'll give themselves a chance. I'd say Rinaldo gets a call from Shanny. I'd say he'll get some type of suspension. Should be one but where he's a repeat offender who knows Shanny may give him three.

Now if the Pens can just do it one game at a time...

That was the tightest called game I've seen in a long time. At least the players said the refs told them before the game started it was gonna be called tight.

Touchdown + field goal for Pens, field goal for Flyers. Hell when i saw it was 7-3 I figured Philly would win 8-7

This one strange series going on there....

That game was too tight. Neither team could play defense without going to the box. The Pens will win every time if you give them 8000 power plays. Hopefully the refs let them play a little tomorrow night, and this loss doesn't get into Bryz's head. At even strength, the Flyers win.

I doubt Rinaldo's penalty will even be looked at. No intent to injure, just some frustration, and no one was injured. If Neal gets a game for taking runs at two of our skill guys, Rinaldo getting thrown out of the game is enough. Of course, with Shanny, nothing is certain. I really have no idea how he makes decisions.

Asham gets 4 because this was first suspension ever. Neal gets 1 because he's been suspended before. Wha?

Yeah, the whole leaving-the-feet thing has got to go. I love a good hit (like Schenn's in Game 3 that got Asham so upset), but jumping like that makes the head the primary point of contact. Of course, Neal did the same thing and then went after Giroux and only got a game, so if Torres gets more just because Hossa went to the hospital, I've lost all faith in the "department of player safety".

How about Ottawa? I think they have a chance to be spoiler to the Rags.

I would be totally shocked by that, and I hope for Tommy's sake it doesn't happen, but man are they playing them tough. I've really been surprised that Ottawa has kept up the play with the Rangers. If it weren't for Henrik in game 3 Ottawa would be up 3-1.

If Rinaldo hadn't took the shot to Micalek's head while he was down on his knees I think he gets by with it. I think that little extra shot, and the elbow/fist shot to Micalek's head before he went down sends Rinaldo on at least a one game suspension. Like you, who knows what's going to happen when the Department of Player Safety gets involved.

                        It was a clean hit.
Hossa had the puck when Torres went after him. Not Torres' fault that Hossa can't take a hit.
They can look at it in slow motion all they want, but the whole incident happened in less than a second.
Torres couldn't stop that fast once Hossa passed the puck away.
I'd be shocked if he got more than a game out of it.

Bullshit it was a clean hit. You can't leave your feet and launch yourself into an opponent...period...fact, not opinion. It was as dirty and cheap as dirty and cheap gets.

Whether he left his feet or not does not matter when the principle point of contact is the head. The head was a target, Torres knows it. The guy has got to change his approach to the game or get the fuck out of the NHL. Look I love hard nosed, aggressive heavy hittin hockey but Torres has no respect for any player in the league he is going to kill or cripple someone and all he will say is he was just finishing his check.

People who claim it was a clean hit obviously are not astute on NHL hockey and current rules. I say it was a clean hit for knocking someone the fuck out and getting your ass a clean suspension Even with current blindside rules and head targeting Torres did leave his feet so the was a charge. Sure 5 years ago if Torres didn't leave his feet it would have been a legal hit...problem is he left his feet so that is a charge 5 years ago and a charge today.

It was about as late as Rome's open ice hit in the Van/Boston series against Horton last year that got Rome 4 games in the finals. Plus Torres has been suspended and/or fined at least three times this season for similar infractions, so I'm expecting he will get around 4 games. The fact that they want an in person hearing generally indicated the league will be pushing for 5 or more. Here is a good explanation of things from a ref's eye view...

The only way that's a clean hit is IF Hossa has the puck, which he clearly didn't, and if Torres does not leave his feet, which he clearly did, then we wouldn't be having this discussion...
