I cry a little bit on the inside every time I hear their name, because the stole it from an (awesome) Alice in Chains song. Poor Layne, ten years gone. *cues up Dirt*

Yeah, Godsmack sucks though. I'm shocked they're still around.

I honestly only know the one Godsmack song. "I Stand Alone", and only because they played the shit out of it promoting whichever The Mummy film it was in. I didn't care for it.

Don't feel bad dude, all of their shit sounds the same. I remember that crappy movie too, but only because it was boring as hell and I got blown during it.

Are you talking about The Mummy with Boris Karloff, or that stupid remake starring Hulk Hogan..?

I grew up in the same neighborhood as them and played in rival bands. We used to make fun of him back then. He was the drummer in a band called Meliah Rage. He lives not far from me here now in NH (He lives in Windham NH) and for the most part he's an asshole. He suffers from little big man syndrome. If anyone has wasted the time reading his book it talks about the streets of Lawrence Ma. I was born and brought up in Lawrence and Methuen and it is nowhere near the "hood" he makes it out to be.

IMO he is a waste of space

I've never been a Godsmack fan, but never hated them either. I seen them open for Metallica in 2004 and I'll give them this.. they put on a hell of a show. Wasn't enough to get me into their music but I did leave with a tad bit more respect for em. As for that Sully guy.. yeah he sounds like an asshole of the highest order, but I maintain a certain position when it comes to musicians, I seperate the Art from the Artist.

I've seen them live twice... first time was opening for Metallica and they blew the roof off, drum solos and all that shit but, they also had Metallica's kick ass lighting and stage to work with and well they had to perform awesome or feel the wrath of the metal gods... second time I saw them it was their own show and the whole feel of their set was like get me the fuck out of here we don't give a shit about these people that just paid $33 bucks to see us... so yeah fuggs'em!

I saw them headlining live in Buffalo, and they put on a great show. They pulled out all the stops including a long encore.

I dug some of their early tunes, but gave up after their third album.

Remember those US Navy tv commercials used a couple of their songs?
