I reallize we don't all like the same thing. The world would be boring as hell if we did. What gets me though is the lil "praise circle" that seems to have no other reason for existance than to take turns bowing before each other and pouring outbursts of head-swelling praise upon each other and forming a lynchmob to string up anyone that likes something they don't. I find it both amazing and amusing some members here can insult damn near anything and get a pat on the back for doing so while others get castrated for voicing anything negative that the inner circle doesn't agree with, and that any band who isn't a clone of one of the beloved bands, yet achieves success, gets a beatdown. Guess it really is easier to nitpick another artist's flaws than to look in the mirror at your own.
BTW, Mr. JGCable, I've bit my tongue for quite a while regarding your remark made in another post, but to answer your question about what people say concerning guitarists from Tigard... although I may be a shadow of my former self, Metal Edge mag seemed to think I could hold my own and was doing something right when they interviewed me back in the 90's.In memory of Gary Wright 9/13/2012Comment

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....

Love um or hate um they kinda kept the guitar solo alive. When it was soooooo uncool to even show any expression on the guitar other than the wall of noise, they kinda kept the guitar solo going. Now everyone is coming back to it like it was always there. Fuck you !Comment

I think I was about 11 or 12 when Godsmack's first album came out, and it was one of the reasons I wanted to start playing guitar. I don't care for them that much anymore and it's a shame that they apparently are such dicks, but at least it is guitar driven, and like OSG said, they were one of the only new bands at the time playing guitar solos (at least bands that got radio play).Comment
