WSOU has been pretty much the only station I've listened to for the past 25 years or however long it's been on.

Aw shit Jerry Im not easily offended and by no means am I here to offend anyone else. especially when it comes to bands that people like/hate. Besides, for everybody that hates em, theres probly 10 fans so... On a side note I just found out that EVH buried his black and yellow guitar with Dime. That is respect right there.

ahhh, what memories, i didn't know the station was still alive Joe, i remember going there to drop off my bands demo that they used to play
on local bands. and it came in very clearly from Jersey to New York, college like heavy metal station, yet much more like an east coast KNAC.
Not helping the situation since 1965!

Yes it is, and the 10:1 thing is pretty much spot on too. Glad we can agree to disagree and not get in a pissing match.

It's still alive and well, Tommy. You can even stream it online. http://www.wsou.net/

I hate that term. And yes they're in the business to sell records and put money in theirs and others pockets. Don't know how to word my problem. I just have to tune em out.
I think I know that he is trying to say. I believe they could be a great "Hard" Rock band, but instead choose to make music that would sell more albums. The term "Sellout" is I believe is misused and misunderstood. As long as you leave a little part of your soul in the music you make, its still YOUR music, and you are not a sellout. (Eg. Metallica's Black Album) Different...but still Great, and Still Metallica...(Load) on the other hand I believe was the first album that Bob Rock was actually involved in the Writing of the music, and although it was good, and I still listen to it from time to time, I would maybe say that Megadeth "Sold out" on the "Risk" album and instead of making the music in their hearts, made the music they thought would sell the most albums.

I have been saying for the last 5-7 years that I believe Nickelback is the modern Def Leppard, they have a few songs that I am not ashamed to like (Too Bad) (Just a Woman), but we both know they spend much more time trying to please the ladies, than impress the guys.

I heard a song on the radio on my way to the drug store. I heard solos I knew were Zakk Wylde. My kid told me that was Nickelback. Did he record a song with them? No, I'm not googlin' it..I don't care that much really.
I remember the day I first heard that song, I thought to myself, "God kid, get your own style...Who would want to sound EXACTLY like someone else?" so I went home and DID google it...I guess I was relieved to find out it was actually Zakk, and not some new "Zakk Clone" who was going to be all over the radio now.

I'm with you. I was given their "Silver Side Up" album and thought it was alright. Nothing majorly bad anyway and there were some decent guitar tones and songs on it. What's the big fuckin deal with them?

So Zakk actually does play on a Nickelback song? I thought Bill was maybe thinking of that cover of "The Chain", that has a total rip off of a Zakk solo on it. Cool though.

Thanks man, I was pretty hungover this morning when I wrote that, and after I posted it, I though I could have done a much better job wording it, but I am glad that you got my point

And depending on what version your local station plays, you might even hear Luda in it.
