i check this site to learn shit about jackson/charvel history, and see carzy one off custom shop stuff. seems like we are getting away from that. i enjoy the stuff talking about amps, pedals, divorce etc. if your jerking off in your parents basement typing about how much so and so sucks, its kind of silly to me. show me your guitars and play me your songs... dave

while i understand your sentiment, let me tell you about my musical journey. while i am at NO means near the level of nickleback, i did choose to take a path different musical path from what i listen to...

i play commercial hard rock, but i listen to metal. i am capable of playing music a lot more difficult than i do, but i just don't want to. back in the '80s i asked myself a crucial question....do i want to have chicks in the crowd or play to mostly sweaty dudes? i like tits, so my preference was to play to mostly chicks. my band philosophy has always been to make music that chicks will enjoy - good production, catchy hooks - then play it a bit more aggressively live so that the dudes that the chicks drag to the show would dig it. it always worked until this current band...for some reason my singer doesn't 'click' with chicks - i think it is her stand-offish nature....

my point is that maybe nickleback is doing exactly what they want. maybe they ARE totally capable of playing more, but are happy doing what they do.

We made the choice to play chick music too. So that we could WORK. And play MUSIC for a living. So if we sold out then so fukin be it.
I didn't really care at the time cause I still got to shred. And chicks DID dig us.

Nickleback isn't on any playlist I have but there are FAR worse bands. I would have no problem having their success lets put it that way.

Nickelback has some OK songs. They also have some terrible songs. I'd rather listen to the worst Nickelback song all day then the auto tune crap that is popular now. I also don't mind listening to Trivium so I probably have no clue what I'm talking about.

But I can make an observation that they fill a "void" left behind from the hair metal days when chick used to go and see Def Leppard, Poison, Ratt, etc. I'd rather have GF or wife into Godsmack, Trivium or NickBack rather than country or pop.
