I've only got three at the moment, but my go-to has been my PRS SE Torero for the past few months. I've tweaked it and it feels/sounds amazing (changed out the sustain block and upgraded it to EMG X-series pickups). Plus, it's just a beautiful guitar. I've gotten lots of comments on it.

If it was put together (I'm doing some work on it at the moment and taking my time), my Model 4 would be a close second. Stainless steel 6100's, EMG 81-X/SA-X/SA-X pickups, OFR with Floyd locking nut conversion...it's just a kickass guitar.

How come there are almost no Jackson "go to" guitars among us, myself included...Had my LTD been a DK-1 I would have filed for divorce 4 months ago.

Lately, my Carvin Custom 7-string I ordered last year. Otherwise, it's my '94 Hamer Special followed by my Mark Morton Dominion. My RR1T comes out every once in awhile, as do the Strat and Les Paul Studio, but I don't find myself using them all the much any more, and the '94 Jackson Dinky HX collects dust down in the basement.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

well, i can't answer for everyone, but personally i find that most of my jacksons lack "soul". at one time i had ten USA jacksons in my collection. now i am down to two. the soloists, again for me, feel fake. the PC-1s that i had, aside from gutted solar, sounded shitty - and i didn't want to gut all of them....my CS jackson (labeled as a charvel) was sold to buy a nice engagement ring for my current wife...i DO miss that one, but at the end of the day it wasn't really THAT soulful - it just looked cool.

the only reason i keep my SL-1 is because it looks awesome with the holoflake finish. the tone is marginal. the playability is what you would expect. in the end, aside from the paint job there is nothing exceptional about it....

now my fender duo-sonic? THAT guitar is soulful. it will scream. it will growl. it will cry. it only has two single coils and 2 knobs, but the tonal variations are stunning depending on how you manipulate those knobs. obviously it is not a metal guitar, but it is a killer blues rock guitar.

the SG? what needs to be said about that??? that has got to be one of the greatest guitars ever. the ONLY thing it won't do is crazy whammy bar stuff.

hamer diablo? to me, it is what jackson wishes the DK-1 could be. that guitar is perfect. the body contours are sexy and comfortable. the pickup config looks awesome and sounds even more awesome. the neck is the perect blend of vintage/modern - built for speed and comfort, but still vintagey enough feel like an old friend. even the jack placement is thought out for the live player. i can promise you will never accidentally unplug that guitar on stage!!

again, i can only speak for myself...
          GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

          and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Lately, I've been playing my SL2H-MAH alot because that's my newest, but I always seem to go back to my single hum CS Soloist with a TOM. That guitar sounds huge.

I'll go back and repeat what I've done to the Jackson DKMGT.
Put a set of pickups in it that are worthy of a 2,000 dollar guitar,
                not a 200 dollar guitar.
Of course the pups are only part of the equation for overall tone but in this case
it really did make a huge difference.
That's part of what makes the Jackson the most used guitar in the small herd.

                The pickups are literally unobtainable.

Dave Stephens is a one man operation and it's highly unlikely he will ever
do another set of high gain pickups.
He's setup to make authentic PAF's and beyond for the collector/player market.
                And he is plenty busy.

The other set of his that I have are installed in the homebrew Les Paul.
VL4 prototypes, very sensitive without microphonics.
Just waiting on a worthy guitar to use them in.

Yes, but as we speak. I'm writing a song called "Mark at the Boon"..it kinda has a Ozzy vibe to it.

I can see myself pulling the listing and listing the other on ebay. I just can't win.
How about pulling me off all over your face, like we used to do? I've told you, if you let me set you up in that flat in the bustling metropolis of Derby, the heart of the East Midlands, you could give up working for His Satanic Majesty Murdoch, and just laze around all day in your Spiderman Y-fronts. I'd keep you supplied with Irn Bru and crisps, you just make sure that you look alluring if I bring any work colleagues round.
You'd be wearing that silk kimono I got you, the one with the absorbent bum padding, and you'd rush over to me, squealing "Daddy!! Daddy Luv Cum!! I'm so pleased to see you! And what's this? A surprise Bukkake party? For me? Oh Daddy, you shouldn't have...."

You could keep all 3 Warriors, and I'd buy you a special one, the same colour as my blood-filled helmet. Come on, you know you want to...
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                            This SHOULD NOT make sense.
But coming from you, it's perfect.
