I have been wheeling and dealing guitars 20 years + some and for the first time I have broken a cardinal rule.Never do a deal with an individual in front of a store.
I understand why this pisses store owners off and I feel really bad for doing this. Its been done to me at guitar shows and yes it will make you angry.
The guy in question I have known for years in the dealing crowd he does this all the time and gets thrown out of places for doing deals like this and I should have known better and taken this deal down the street and conducted it else where.
I have been paying off a very large medical bill since Feb and he flashed the cash right there and I took it.I knew better but the dollars blinded me at the moment.
I feel really bad because I had built up a good rep with the store owner in the short time he has been there. We had done some trades and I had bought some high ticket vintage guitars from him.
He didn't throw me out but was really pissed at me for what happened.
I apologized to him and told him I was very sorry it happened and I knew better. The other guy involved did the same and the store owner told him he was OK with him and patted him on the back(giving him a pass) all I got was a pissed look?
I want to make it up to the store owner by giving him a low end guitar that is in perfect condition( worth $150 or so) or a GNX 3000 processor free to make amends and set things right between us.
I feel this would fix our bond so to speak but what would you do in this case?
I generally don't give a shit what people think of me but in this case I do for some reason.
