I wish we didn't have the sue culture here. Way too many lawyers. When I was growing up we fought and had rules to the fighting. If you kicked someones ass they learned a lesson of what now to do. Funny is you still could be friends with someone who you kicked there as or they kicked your ass. Whatever the case may be, you didn't do whatever caused the fight again.

Now a days people won't even come talk face to face or even call you to discuss it, they just call the cops. Get in an physical confrontation, they have you arrested and then sue for damages and make up other bullshit like...my dick doesn't get hard anymore since rm kicked my ass, I want 4 billion dollars for pain and suffering. Your dick wont get hard because your married to an ugly bird lol...not because rm kicked your ass

I do know people would certainly be nicer if ass kicking's were allowed, they couldn't hide behind the law, if they flapped their jaw to the wrong guy his jaw would be broken....now they just shoot you from across the street or sue ya...pathetic imho

I dare say you are right, but as the man says, things are a little different over here - no guns, no culture of suing the shit out of each other. Just the odd punch in the mush at the boozer.

My Dad owned a chipshop and told me he once heard a couple of geezers talking about my business, all very complimentary. Just as he was about to say "That's my son!", one of them warned the other that I could be a complete cunt and not to mess me about over money or end up in the canal. Dad was shocked and ashamed (initially), but I was pleased when he told me!

Pleased, because while every other PA company round here gets fucked around, bookings cancelled at the last moment, kit stolen etc, no-one fucks me about. It's not that I swagger about, or want to be known as a hard man, because I'm most definitely not.
If you take the food from my babies' mouths though...well, I'll have something to say about it. If anything, it's good for business - I do a damned good job (even if I do say so myself) and everything is above board and professional. Other professionals appreciate that and will pay my fee rather than pay less to some cunt who works from his garage at home and doesn't have the overheads I have, taxes I pay etc.
Once you start letting people take liberties...well, they start doing deals right under your nose. Not in front of me they don't!

If I came across as nasty to Straycat, I didn't mean to be - everyone has to do what they gotta do. He should have been more discreet, or have the balls to go into the shop like nothing has happened (but be aware that if the owner lets him in, he is seething inside and will be looking to pay him back and fuck him over).
Maybe when times are good again, and everyone is doing good business, doing deals like he did might be something that shop owners can let pass. If things are the same over there as they are over here right now (ie. fucking grim), every sale, every penny counts, and might be the difference between survival or closure.

I have sent him lots of business to and he is well aware of that.
What gets me the guy who is known for doing this type of thing gets a a pass and I get the pissed off look even after an apology.
Power tube you are right I should have caught myself and said lets go down the road and do this deal.
So why worry about it then? If you think your previous dealings with the shop means you should be cut some slack for pissing on his shoes, carry on as normal. I assume you are possibly going to spunk loadsa money with him again at some point, the colour of your cash will be more than enough of an apology. Just don't expect a discount!

You know where you went wrong, don't do it again. We all make silly errors. Once upon a time, I wiped my cock on this chick's curtains as I was leaving, just for a joke. Do you know how difficult it is to get clunge gunge and Harry Monk mix off velvet curtains when your husband gets home and wants to know where the hell it came from? No, nor me, but apparently it's quite difficult. I never got to plunder her chutney cupboard ever again after that. A lesson learned...
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

        I nearly broke her back

I understand the point you are trying to make, but I disagree. You say that if you kicked someone's ass they learned a lesson, but what if the winner of the fight was wrong in the original dispute? If this were the way things worked, wrong or right wouldn't matter, only who could win a fight.

Although I agree that we are too sue happy, I do not think that fighting to solve problems is a better solution. That just means that the big guy who knows how to fight will always win disputes.

Full disclosure: I am a small guy who does not know how to fight

He denied I offered it to him I said I certainly did and he denied it again.
IMO, this changes everything. You offered the same guitar to him before and he said no. If you ever went back, I'd remind the owner about it. Liar liar, pants on fire!

I'm just going to give it some time and not worry about it.
Probably the best thing to do any way.Time will work it all out, no sense in pressing the matter.
