EMG has quick connect kits for their pickups, but yeah it would be nice if the major players got together and came up with standardized pinouts and connections that use simple push on connectors.

This are some of what we use for a grounding bus in our PLC control systems, separate grounds go to the bus, then the bus itself is grounded. So once the bus is grounded to your pot, you would just run your pickup and shielding grounds to the terminal. the only soldering would be from the bus to the pot.
You have a really good idea with this.We will know for the first time...

I was only half-kidding about that multi terminal strip.
If just one three-point strip can be fitted it saves a lot of work.
You can get several leads just on one of those older style eyelets.
Taken from amp building of course.
I avoid soldering on pots and chassis boxes as much as possible, and
prefer common ground point(s) tied to a star.
Really an ideal situation when you are discussing several pickups and shields.
So, whatever you can come up with that will be a universal fit would help.
Nothing wrong at all with the screw strips you were thinking of.Last edited by Cygnus X1; 08-31-2012, 08:48 PM.

How about just solder 1 wired to the pot, then take this wire along with the other 6, twist together, solder, tape off with electrical tape.
Silar,
The guitar industry doesn't have quick connects because it's typically thought that once a guitar is put together, that's it - it's done. Thought wasn't given to the aftermarket pickup industry and people swapping.
