Was going to sign up and sell a few things here locally and in the agreement there is a section on fees but not real clear just what these fees are.
I was under the impression from what others have told me that it was free to sell on there.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I've tried selling stuff on Craigslist and it was free. I had a lot of trouble with low ballers that when I told them no they would flag my page for whatever reason and it instantly gets taken off. You have to mentor your page like an overly protective mother. I wish you well, hope things start to look up my friend.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

It is free to sell on there. I signed up earlier in the year, and I don't remember anything about fees.
Watch out for the asshole scammers that will tell you they want to send someone out to pick your item up and pay you with a money order or cashiers check when you clearly state in your ad cash pickup only!
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

From what I can gather fees are on extra products they offer like credit card and currency exchanges.
Hell I'll go and give it a try. Thanks TJ. oh yeah the other TJ too thanks.

Its become very hard to sell stuff on CL. I have my lawn mower up for sale with no bites. But from what I've seen, patience pays off. You WILL get the money you want, just be willing to wait.

In my experience, Craigslist is a great selling venue if you want to wade through a pile of scammers and whackos, then eventually sell to a psychotic buyer willing to pay 1/10th of the value of the item you're selling.

I have room to work price wise so they think they have talked me down.
Hope I can wait it out. Can't hurt to try CL

I normally don't have too much luck or faith with selling stuff online but I sold my jetski on CL this past spring and it went fast for asking price. Definitely worth a try.

The Des Moines area Craigslist has a guy that trolls all of the musical gear adds. If he thinks you're asking to much he will post an add with an Re: in front of a copy of whatever you wrote and go on in the add about your price being way off and that he is just looking out for poor unsuspecting buyers that aren't informed. Pish posh, the a**hole needs to get a life. Uninformed buyers? Really, they are setting in front of a computer on the internet, where they can look up anything they want, duh! I call him that Craigslist price nazi. Okay mini rant over, sorry stray. Good luck.

No fees and you have a better chance of getting your price, but as others have stated, the trolls/spammers/time wasters really wear you down after a while. I usually go to CL only to sell household items such as furniture, exercise equipment, etc.

I sell stuff on CL all the time. You do have a bunch of idiots, but rarely my does not sell. Still better than Ebay. Eventhough Ebay owns most of CL now

CL charges you if you're posting property to rent/sell or if you're hiring for work.

                        Everything else is free.

I sell and buy a ton on CL.

Word of advice, open a Gmail account for the CL ads. You will get a shitload of spam to whatever email address you use in the ad.
