Soooo, my dad decided he needed something to carry on a day to day basis with a bit more punch than his .32 but smaller than his .45. The ol bastard, bless his heart, picked up a Glock 27 .40 cal., the very gun I was asking his opinion on a few months ago as I was really lusting over it.
So I was a little jealous when he brought it for show and tell the other night. This isnt a sad story though folks. His .45 was a Smith and Wesson model 457. Solid steel frame and slide, sub-compact(as sub-compact as you could get in a .45 back when he bought it about 10 years ago). Reeeeally nice gun, and the accuracy, you could drive nails with it. Ive been lusting after this gun since the first time I shot it. So he offered it to me(after telling me he offered to my sis first , shes in the Army and still doesnt own a gun, guess he figured I had 2 already and that was enough)anyhow, she said no so he offered it to me. My answer was hell yes, or something like that. ITS MINE NOW!!!!
So not only do I finally have a .45 like Ive been wanting forever, but ending up with a .9, .380, and a .40, I now have a gun that I always figured would only reach my hands after settling my dads estate. Stoked!
This should make up for the Colt Python .357 that I was told would be mine on my 18th bday, but ended up getting traded off for a pool table in 99 to a coworker in preparation for Y2K. What a stupid deal that was, all around. Alls well anyhow, not much a fan of revolvers.
Heres a pic, though not of my own, but a stock pic to give everyone an idea of the design. My net connection is 3G, so I dont have the patience to wait for high res pics to upload.
