I don't know how you folks feel about it but I'll be damned if I buy another guitar made in a country that openly hates America and burns US flags in front of news cameras. I don't care that Fender/Jackson is an American company, they are paying workers in Indonesia to build them. Not to mention all the other products Americans buy that supports their economy. I think every guitar with a Jackson logo on it should be Made in USA or Custom Shop only. Screw all you cheap douche bags who want $50 Jacksons and buys the imports. You're part of the problem. Quality, not quantity.

I'm almost embarrassed to call myself a fan of Jackson because of some of you bottom feeders who buy a guitar because the logo makes you feel cool. I'm a Jackson fan for the outstanding work the Custom Shop has produced and the high quality mark of American craftsmanship, not because I can go to Guitar Center and buy the latest piece of import bullshit with a logo on it that has nothing to do with the actual brand except for a contract and a license.

To some of you, Jackson is another brand like Walmart... generic and for the masses. To me it used to be like owning a Rolex or a Ferrari... not that I'd own either, but excuse my digressions...

Well, in my opinion it was the greatest business plan in the 20th century... the whole cold war era weapon and heavy industry manufacturing and trading. And people had no problems with it because obviously they believed the world consisted of big enemies and everything is justified in that game. So of course like in every game and cheesy flick you got the sides. The anglo side with yanks, brits and most of the west, the Red east side with soviets, China etc. and Gaullist France which played the part of on no-one's side which made Paris the place where the western and eastern leaders came together and laughed at how stupid the world population is. That's why cheesy hollywood flicks with artificial black and white characters are popular because it works in the real world. Of course we (the Soviet Union) got the big bad guy part. The whole world was shitting their pants because of us yet we weren't scared of anyone because for us it was natural to believe that the whole thing is one major bullshit, anything the leaders will tell you is automatically false.
Of course without all this thing we would have been better off as the soviet leaders got a lot of their money and power because of the weapons and heavy industry, they weren't interested in economy, agriculture and all that stuff. The cold war game kept them in the business for a long time. So naturally every "side" to me is a bunch of assholes and all the flag waving idiots are supporting them. Collectivist mentality is not just stupid but simply destructive.

I can agree with you there. I used to not care about where things were made. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, or wiser but I've basically become a USA snob... for everything. Both of our cars are USA and when I got my first USA Jackson earlier this year I nearly sh** my pants at the quality difference. Maybe ESP has it correct buy putting LTD on anything sub par.

Xeno, I guess you always played $5,000 custom shop guitars eh? I can understand strong support of things made in the country someone is from but for you to insult someone just because they may not be able to afford that top-shelf guitar you're so used to playing is a crock of shit. I've owned really expensive guitars and I've owned cheap ones, to me it's about how it plays, not the price tag attached, but at no point did I insult someone because they couldn't afford something. As is witnessed by many posts in this forum, you can get a POS custom shop guitar that just doesn't work for you while sometimes you run across a lower priced guitar that just amazes you with how it plays. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud American that firmly believes in "buy American first" but when it comes to guitar it's more about the heart someone has for playing and not whether or not they spent the price of a used car to be able to play. The most expensive guitar I have owned was a 12 string Strat back in the early 90s but I just couldn't bond with it. Currently I have a Les Paul that I found out is a fake but it plays better than some guitars I've spent 10 times what this one cost me. Do I care that it was probably made somewhere in the Asian countries? Not really. Would I be happier with it if it had been made here in the good ole US of A? Playability being equal, yes, but I'm not going to stop playing it just because it wasn't made here. In short like me or not I don't care but preaching at people from your soapbox doesn't make you a better person just like that amount in your wallet doesn't. Oh, and btw, maybe if Jackson didn't take two years turnaround time for custom shop orders they'd get more people willing to dump investment levels of cash into one.

in my opinion, it's still the greatest business plan as far as dollars go that come in from an actual tangible product, and its in full swing as always , and will remain that way. oddly, when things fell apart in '89-90 over in your area, large quantities the arms were stolen, billions upon billions of dollars worth of all kinds of weapons.
