  • Who's buying/planning to buy what for thanksgiving?

I have avoided all sort of black friday/cyber monday buying since 2006, but I do need a LCD TV for the bedroom. I'm planning to hit the stores tonight. Either fry's or Walmart. Anyone else?

Who's even planning on wasting time at guitar center?

coming to think of it, how is thanksgiving celebrated on the other side of the pond? Is it the same lunacy, stampede, etc. that happens on this side?

I'm your twin on the opposite coast. I've never done any black friday anything, but the wife & I are going to WalMart tonight to get an LCD TV for the bedroom

I was looking to replace my old Toshiba CRT TV (32").
I noticed the 50" Toshiba LCD for like $299 BF. Then I remembered the pathetic fucks who camp out days in advance to get such (limited stock) deals.

So last Friday I found out about a "secret" sale on a LG 47" LCD (with 3-D!) for $398 at Fry's....sold! It just barely fit in my car.

I gotta say, that was pretty painless. Walked into the store at 9:55, walked up to a dude who had voucher cards for tvs, then checked out.

Spent a total of 15 minutes in the store, and got a 32" tv for $148. Ended up getting one for the inlaws too.

Yeah, I've decided to pass on the deals. I want a 32" LCD/LED with built in wi-fi so I can stream netflix. Looks like there are no deals on such televisions this BF.

                        No shit, dude?

I once worked with a guy from Ghana, Africa, and some local redneck chick asked him how they celebrated Thanksgiving in Africa. He said "We didn't kill any Indians."

I said "No, no, that was 100 years later. Thanksgiving is from the Indians helping us keep from starving to death when we first came over from Europe. After that, we started killing them."

As for Black Friday, I poked around TigerDirect's and WalMart's sites, but can't really think of anything I need. TD has a couple of low-end laptops for $150 if someone wanted what amounts to an under-featured/oversized smartphone with a 13" screen.

I have that on my 46", but really, just get Vizio streaming players for every room in the house and be done with it. Just get a good 1080p with LED and a good refresh rate.

                          What store - Wallyworld?
