  • Ray Shero is definitely pulling out all the stops for his best Craig Patrick impersonation so far. Jesus effin' Christ, I didn't think we had a hope in hell of picking up Iginla... He's stacking them deep right now, but I'm sure we'll be selling cheap once the season is over. Pretty impressed with Shero right now though.

I'm pretty sure Shero's doing it just to give Atomic Tommy more fuel to hate the Pens

      Patrick? More like Steinbrenner

I was totally shocked when I heard this on the radio driving to work this morning...unbelievable! And the price was much less than I think anybody expected (a first rounder and two college prospects). I heard that the B's offered more but in the 11th hour Jarome specified the Pens only and was in a position of power due to his no-trade clause.

Home and home against the Rangers next week...I'll need your new digits by then Thomas!!!

      • Pens are definitely stacking. Smart move in this crazy shortened season. The only problem is if selling the cupboards bare doesn't end up with a cup and the players don't re-sign, then you've traded a lot of your future assets for rentals, which can come back to haunt you. Sid isn't a kid any more and has had a bit of an injury bug due to the way he competes so you definitely need to keep some of the talent on the farm.

That's the coolest thing...they've only given up one top prospect (Morrow) and some draft picks. The two guys who just went to Calgary weren't even top 5. The Pens are actually stacked with developmental talent so these deals were really all no-brainers. Although they're most likely rental players, it's really not gonna hurt them too badly...and if they win the Cup...

No, Crosby is not a kid anymore...he's a ripe old 25. I think he has a few good years left in the tank barring injury.

            • That is some good GM'in if ya ask me. They had a good team to begin with but with Morrow, Murry and Iginla they are even better. It looks like its all in approach which I like. They still have I think 4.5 mil cap space left too so who knows, maybe they're not done yet and get Luongo

              • why do the pens get these deals? iginla had to approve of the trade in the end as he supposedly refused the trade to boston.
but when the pens got the Crosby pick, they did not have the worst team. i think it was a gift to Mario who took the owners side rather than the players during the lockout.
just a theory. anyway, i hope this fucks up the chemistry the pens have going right now, which is highly unlikely, but one can dream right?
the pens willnot lose in regulation for the rest of the season. book it.

NOOOO, not Luongo! Looks like your Wings could use him to help Howard with the load. Don't put that hex on us!

                      • Luongo was 1 or 2 saves away from the Stanley Cup...the cupcake twins couldn't score - Luongo made enough saves, just as he is doing this year.

Sid got a bad luck injury with the puck to the face. Even non-Crosby fans like myself don't want to see that happen because it is much more interesting when he is in the mix. That said, the way that they tally things in the NHL, Sid will likely get 4 or 5 more assists while he is out of the lineup.
My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.

Yeah...too bad the forum doesn't have a minimum IQ.

                        • marc staal is working out on the ice after that puck he took to the eye weeks ago. sorely needed in that lineup.
ryan clowe to the rangers. poor ryan.
the much hated penguins finally lost a game. that will change tonight when they dismember the rangers.

                            • Glad I was putting together the wife's new elliptical machine tonight instead of watching the Pens choke it up two games in a row. Which Pens goalie got shell shocked tonight? Was it Vokun or Fleury or both of them? I'll be Tommy's puttin' on the Ritz right now!

                              • I think the Pens are still shellshocked about Sid's smashed face. It was Fleury. I didn't watch the game but he had an .846 sv so not looking good. SJ Fans will be happy to see Clowe is now on pace for 15 goals.
